I have some question.
Why the heck do people like bands such as disturbed?
They always refer to blood and kill.
That's not normal.
The beats are not "catchy"
That "scream" they do sounds horrible.
Tell me why do you like such bands.

Another question:
What do you think about "emo" culture? Do you think they are ALWAYS whining about their life and what they will do?
Do you AGREE with emo culture?

Those are all the questions.
Please take a look and answer them and please, do not flame me.
Many thanks.

Posting my egg here by the way..

A post like this could spark a pointless argument (despite your plea for no flamming). I like them because I LIKE the sound of their music. Why else does someone like a band? Because they PERSONALLY like it. Not everyone is going to like the same stuff (obviously). Your post sounds like it's saying "I don't like this band so why does anyone else like it?". It sounds rather...arrogant (perhaps if you worded your question differently I wouldn't have had this opinion).

This belongs in the Popular Media section, not the WEPR :/

I will answer your questions though...

1. I don't really like... Whatever genre that is, screamo metal, I dunno. But I do know this:

You're incorrect in saying that they all refer to blood and such... They aren't satanic. The songs actually have meaning if you care to listen.

The beats are not catchy... Are they supposed to be? Should you walk down the street, singing, whistling, whatever, a Disturbed song?

That scream sound actually takes skill. They don't just let it rip on a microphone. And some people actually like that; whether it be for the actual sound, or respect for the ability to make it, I don't know.

I only know one actual 'emo' person. And she's apparently manic-depressive, so it's more than just bitching about life. I can't say anything about the rest, not having any personal experience to go by. I don't really care what they do, so I guess you could say I'm indifferent to the emo culture.

And there's a thread for all that egg business in the tavern, I think.

Dear Lord could you possibly make more generalizations about anything? You do understand the "emo" culture is generally separated from the "rock" culture that would like bands such as disturbed.

We could just respond calmly, and explain what might be wrong with the statements, instead of cursing the OP's ignorance on the subject.

And as far as I know, there was no comparison made to emo and the screamo/whatever genre of music.

I forgot to answer the emo question. I am not good with labeled individuals or groups. I don't know the exact definitions of emos, goths, scene kids, and other crap like that. I'm behind the times =(

It's annoying when people don't take the time to understand those who are different than themselves but your right.

And as far as I know, there was no comparison made to emo and the screamo/whatever genre of music.

I was just assuming he was associating them because he seemed to have a problem with both.

Anyway OP just because you don't like something doesn't mean no one else does. I know plenty of "emo" kids who are actually pretty cool and tend to complain only as much as more people. As for the music I personally don't listen to it but just because someone does doesn't change my opinion of them.

Thanks for all the reply guys.
But i need to make something clear.
1.I do like some bands that sing rock.
2.I have no hate to the emo culture.

@Kyosuke: Sorry if being arrogant, didin't meant to.
@Pois0nArr0w: i once heard a song by disturbed. It said something like "THE DEMON IS ON ME" or something.
@Pois0n Arr0w: I am not ignorant on the OP. There is a reason of why i am making these questions.

Yes disturbed is a demonic band but the entirety of the heavy metal genre isn't.

There is a reason of why i am making these questions.

No need to apologize. I was simply stating what I thought, I don't think you are an arrogant person in general or anything and after reading your response you don't seem like one. I believe you may be confused but OP means Original Poster.

I want to see how many people defend the emo or how many people will troll me.

Well, i was speaking in general terms. But, no offense to you, the OP did come off as ignorant... At least, to me.
