So just a quick question. when you go into a thread, how mnay of you actually read, the OP (opening post), and the comments inbetwen before posting? Beacuse I see some things being said in topics that have been disscussed already, being brought back up.
Like in the Support and suggestions for example. When someone suggest something, the first few pages are filled with question, drawbacks, pros and cons, and awnsers to those. Then on like page 5, someone who clearly didn't go read, asks all of those again.
So I ask you, are you actually one of the few people who read before you post? If not you should. It's like you're crosing the street without looking both ways. its just dumb.
Everyone should at least read the OP to figure out what the topic is even about. I try to read a few replies to see everyone's standpoint on the topic, whether it's from the WEPR or just the Tavern and the S&S forum. You can't expect a person who just posted in a thread to read 10 pages of the thread before making a post; however, this process can be easier if you reply often in the same thread. If you reply in page 2 and wait until page 5, you can read through 3 pages and not have as much stress as it would be if you just replied in page 20 or so.
it depends. Well I always read the OP. And if it's only got a few pages i will skim them. But if there are already more than 5 or 6 pages i usually just read the page before the one im about to post on.
guess i'm sort of guilty. Not as bad as some of the people you are describing tho
Like that one thread that had NOTHING to do with kitties but instead this same topic and a guy with 2 posts said "I don't like kitties I like dogs"? I laughed really hard with that one.
I would say at least read the OP and a couple pages next to the most recent reply and you should be fine. Yes, there are threads like those god-forsaken god threads that repeat the same question over and over again, but those can't be helped. If all the questions asked there were only asked once, then the threads would have ended at like 5 pages only.

I have seen people who do that. I try to ignore them. but someone always has to point them out.
I read almost all the posts until page 10 or so before I reply. Wait...are we talking about books? (what would happen to people that don't read the op)
It completely matters how many posts there are before mine... but I'll read the OP if the title doesn't say what we're talking about. And I always read the last like 15 posts or something...
