Can he lock entire threads? ( like the tavern ) Can he lock all the threads in AG in a single button click? Can he Edit MY post?!?! Can he edit his own post? Can he edit MY about? Ect. Ect.
I want to know everyone a mod can do that normal players can not.
The Tavern is a forum section. A thread is a topic like this one.
What we can and cannot do is a secret of trade, but I am going to say that NO, we cannot edit posts, not our own, nor yours. At least not in the sense that you are suggesting. It would be nice to be able to, though, and we are mostly for that suggestion, whenever it comes up. We just keep in mind that it could be used for the worse instead of the better.
If you know how moderation works on other sites, you should have at least a general idea of how it works here. Though you will never know the exact details, unless you obtain administrative/moderator powers somehow.
I'm gonna have to be a goody 2 shoe for the next 2 years and a halve.
Don't bank on that.
I'd give answers, but seeing what Cenere has stated I'd rather you do your own homework.
Looks like i'm gonna have to find out the hard way. I'm gonna have to be a goody 2 shoe for the next 2 years and a halve.
I've been active here consistently for longer than any other non-mod user...and you don't see me as a Mod...so don't stay around for a long time just for that...
Didn't you know that the Mod's also have powers of Mass destruction...and are able to destroy entire websites at their will...just Google Search for the pages they've destroyed...trust me...you won't find them...
Just imagine when you're looking at your comments and you see a trash can next to someone's comments. Now imagine that on the forums. Mods can do that. Then I'm guessing that they have the same "lock" thumbnail as a button for locking threads. No, they cannot forcibly edit your own account. If something is there that they suggest for you to remove, they have to ask that you yourself do it. They cannot edit your post, but they can edit your thread's name and move it.
I think that's about it? Oh yeah bans. Hmm.... I'm really trying to think of a thumbnail button that represents a ban. Is it seriously a hammer? That would be hilarious XD
Well we know the mods aren't going to share...so I guess we just have to assume. All though I gotta say, if they had an actual hammer thumbnail that would be by fa the funniest thing that I've ever seen on this site.
Just want to make sure I'm getting this right. To become a mod, you have to be a member for a while? There has to be something besides that.
A while depends. Aside from what Krizaz said, you have to be competent, mature (includes age too) and active on the site. Frequenting the S&S section is necessary too. I don't know about the WEPR and the AMW, but it seems all the mods frequent at least one of those, so it should be good to prove yourself there.

Yes, a thumbnail. Though it being in the form of a hammer would be funny.
If something is there that they suggest for you to remove, they have to ask that you yourself do it.
Wrong.
If something is there that they order for you to remove, they have to force that you yourself do it.
If you don't comply with what they order you, action will be taken against you. They do not have to request you to remove anything inappropriate. No matter how nicely it is said, they are still ordering you.
The moderators' laws are only beneath those of the admins. Though they have differing opinions, (fair or sometimes unfair, depending on one's perspective) they have proven themselves trustworthy enough to have their opinions as the law. Opinions on those matter which are relevant, however.
