yes im making another one of these world cups. not to compete, just for the heck of it.
basically the rules in this one are the same as the other ones only i will have 8 groups of 4 artists that are all based in the 21'st century. any bands that played majorly in the 80's of 90's will not be on here. so if i get suggestions on my page for metallica ill go crazy.
the vote limit will be 1 vote per person and first artist to 8 votes wins.
if 8 votes is not reached it will be every three days. please if i forget that its been 3 days, somebody tell me.
I can't sit still and watch this thread go to the dead-thread vault! Please vote for one of these excellent bands. If I could vote twice I would at least give Disturbed one vote. Hi Google, I would have put money on the table that you would either like System of a Down or Disturbed...
I'll throw a vote in for System of a down.. it really isn't one of my favourite bands, but some time ago I listened a bit to some songs Serj Tankian sang on a solo side project, and I must say this singer is great I didn't really knew the others, heard a bit of them, and listening to their songs didn't quite convince me. I'm staying at my vote for the deliciously special voice of SOAD
I really love their songs, alot of meaning behind them and the lyrics are great, as well as the instrumentals, I like 2 songs from 30 Seconds to Mars compared to 99.99% of Linkin Parks.. SOAD I've not heard of before.. looked up a few songs and not my thing, Disturbed I don't mind, I've heard their songs and they have some good lyrics, but Linkin Park wins for me by far xD
30 Seconds To Mars. I listened to The Kill for the first time like a month ago and it quickly became one of my favorite songs, so I bought This Is War and A Beautiful Lie and love both albums.
I think the problem is that the thread gets bumped back from the first page on the forum every time... if only more people would vote on a regular basis, the thread would be seen better!
Though i don't really like any of them. My vote goes to SOAD. I like the weird voices their singer does (which are pretty funny) and the quick-fire parts of the song.
each one of these bands i have seen live so i can say from personal experience that these 4 shows are are all in my top ten best shows seen behind explosions in the sky of course there all right behind them.
Bad Religeon even though bad religeon origanally came from 1997, there fame didnt really come into play untill the 21'st century. and with songs like this one (sorrow) you can see why
the bouncing souls name completley defines how they are as a band. they brought soul into punk and i mean it. they live and breather there music and you can tell just by how they play.
Anti-Flag anti-flag is jsut a bunch of bad ***** who came together to rant about how they all hate the government. and it works.
mindless self indulgence is a strange group of people....very weird, and ive met them... they remind me of the current state of joaquin phoenix only more spastic. they kinda also innovated electronics into there music and it also works very well. great stuff
Um, I guess punk music really has disentegrated in the last ten years. Oh well. I've heard plenty of songs by Bad Religion and Anti-Flag, so it'd have to be between those guys, but my vote goes towards Bad Religion. They're more technical than any of these guys, and more talented musicians, and they don't have as much hate in their music as these other guys, which for me is a good thing.
I'm not into punk music that much, other than the Sex Pistols to be honest, but looking at the 4 bands in this battle I'd have to choose Bad Religion to get my vote! They simply appealed to me more over the other three in style within this genre!
I know my reasoning is as thin as paper, but it's the best I can do in this battle, sorry... :/
