yes im making another one of these world cups. not to compete, just for the heck of it.
basically the rules in this one are the same as the other ones only i will have 8 groups of 4 artists that are all based in the 21'st century. any bands that played majorly in the 80's of 90's will not be on here. so if i get suggestions on my page for metallica ill go crazy.
the vote limit will be 1 vote per person and first artist to 8 votes wins.
if 8 votes is not reached it will be every three days. please if i forget that its been 3 days, somebody tell me.
hmm... at present I prefer streetpunk or Oi!(for example this song)... but here I think I have to give my vote to Bad Religion. I saw them once live and they're not that bad Still the best band in this group.
Dang, tough choice. I love Bad Religion, and have since high school, however I was also an avid Anti-Flag fan. Hmm... Well I have to go with Bad Religion. While I loved Anti-Flag, and still listen to them from time to time, Bad Religion has a much broader scope and wider influence, whereas Anti-Flag is more of a niche band who are really only known within specific circles.
I don't really know, to make a more conclusive decision I should know these bands longer than just the few songs I listened. But I can exclude Mindless Self Indulgence, they are weird and I don't like anything doing with electro stuff. Bouncing Souls sound good but almost a little too calm. Bad Religion are very good, and Anti Flag are too, though I imagine what Walker said about niche group is probably right. Still they sound very good and haven't gotten any vote yet, so I vote for Anti Flag.
im going to officiall say bad religeon has WON this bracket.
HOWEVER!!!!
anti-flag and the bouncing souls are still tied...
im going to call a last minute tie breaker match between anti-flag and the bouncing souls ill post a couple more links and you guys can duke it out for the win. TRUE BELIEVER BY THE BOUNCING SOULS THIS IS THE END BY ANTI FLAG!!
I'll help you break the tie in this 'tiebreaker' then delossantosj... :P
My vote is purely based on the two videos you provided... Allthough I have to say that Anti Flag's video didn't work, since it was blocked by YouTube for my country, but I managed to find a similar one of this particular song!
# The Bouncing Souls video was a bit of amaturistic one in my opinion... even though it's still Punk we're talking about, I think it was rubbish in timing and musical communication between the band memebers! Poor effort by them... and a bad reflection of an already 'thin song' made by them...
# Anti Flag's video was better directed and showed a better feeling between the members, allthough I think it was not completely without some studio mixing before release... They do have a distinctive 'hint' towards Green Day with their musical style and therefor abandoned the Punk genre in it's true sence if you ask me, but I will still give them my vote! Conclusion: my vote goes to ANTI FLAG!!! =)
