Kidding, it's really serious.

No spam or trolls.

*Many people leave*

Random Guy: At least one?

*facepalm*

Anyways, what defines a thread that should be locked? I would like to know.

Many reasons

1. Dead thread (necromancers)
2. Offensive thread (trolls)
3. Useless thread (spammers)

Many of those, yet it has come to my suspicion that many threads can be locked depending on how it was put.

For example:

I need a title that will get attention

If I had called that.

"A glitch where topic post counts go to minus 1"

and inside said

"AG 3 is coming hopefully small glitches like this will be cleared up, but I'm still worried, does AG want to be known as a glitching (is that a word) site?"

I'm 91.9% sure that it would of stayed, yet if I put it the way I put it, it got deleted before 3 views. In 2 minutes. Even though it could of easily had discussion. It's just the way the first post was put made it seem like it could be spammed.

Yet this was a false call, the way I, or many people puts horrible humour into things makes it feel like spam, yet, most people are capable of a sensible discussion, but by putting a somewhat horrible humour in there, it seems like the thread will go no where, yet if you had waited, it could of easily been turned into a good thread. Most likely would of fallen quickly with 5-6 posts, but still it's a thread.

Another false call is

Bad translator-translations can be funny

I find that, in a way, that is the perfect place for a bad translator. It seemed like a good thread. It was a fact that it was a bit spamish, but why now. It had 6 pages before it was locked. Why was that, it wasn't any different then it was at the start.

/A very very hard thread to make while ranting

Well, my rant is done. Leave opinions of you can bother

Conclusively if you phrase an OP so that it sounds pretty much like "hey, look at this, lol", then it will be locked. Why? Because it will end up in spam.
As the rules go for most of the sections: The threads must constitute some kind of discussion following the topic as well as the site rules".
But hey, it is ttly us mods who are wrong. Because whenever we do our job, someone is going to complain about it. If we are not doing our job, and just browsing around, we are lazy and should be demodded. If we are unable to do something for one or another reason, then we are stupid and hating towards the users.

Not blaming mods. They do A better job then I could ever do, I just tend to go on rants alot, wouldn't of done a rant if I knew who locked it, but for now, I'm mysteried.

You would figure that an OP or thread title that contained a genuine start to a topic would spur the attention of it. It is the topics that are misleading and the OP's that don't go into a discussion of one that are locked. Maybe even deleted if completely useless. A fundamental rule of AG is to provide a title and a leading discussion of the topic in order to have a lasting thread. You can spice it up all you want if you need it to be; no one is asking you to have it to-the-point.

Take my latest thread in here for example. I could have just said "State your home stories here", but instead I put "I have a bat trapped in my roof O_o" in the title. It is when the title is too misleading or when the OP provides nothing "discussable" that the mods go ahead and lock them.

I guess it's settled, wish I knew what moderator/Admin did it though.

I'm still wondering why the bad-translator thread was locked, I didn't think there was anything wrong with it...
