Grammar
:knowledge or usage of the preferred or prescribed forms in speaking or writing: She said his grammar was terrible.

Use it; and yes it even matters in the tavern.

Then again no need to be a grammar Nazi.

Just a friendly reminder from a tired samy.

Why is this necessary?

Just a not-so-friendly question from an energetic knight_34.

Not-so-friendly? D:

And because of various posts that I've seen tonight with terrible grammar and the overly caring grammar Nazi's that don't really exist on AG anymore I suppose.

Well, people supposedly mature enough for the internet as a whole should be proficient enough in grammar that it shouldn't matter...

Sadly, this isn't the case.

knight, would you rather know what the **** someone is saying or guess?

Know.

Though seriously, I agree with this thread. We all need grammar in our lives. Yes, I'm a Grammar Nazi. As long as your speech is intelligible and respectable, I don't mind.

Well there's Alt, anyone else a Grammar Nazi?

Yes, those kiddies. However there's also the laziness thing in there too.

Alt isn't that bad anymore he tends to just ignore your posts if you have bad grammar though.

I'm fairly sure that there's a couple more drifting around.

Hi! Geez, I'm losing my reputation around here. Life used to be so simple.

Grammar problem: What do you do when someone doesn't capitalize his or her own name (like the OP!)? On one hand, names are what they are and shouldn't be changed, but on the other, they must be capitalized. My head explodes every time I try to type samy's name. QED.

Sorry Xzeno, I forgot about you.

I capitalize the names sometimes. I always capitalize names that come at the beginning of a sentence.

About my name, just call me Knight.

My apologies.

I think I was going through my lack of capitals phase when I made my account.

Expanded, "there's" becomes "there is". Thus making the sentence read: I'm fairly sure that there is a couple more drifting around.

Of course, it should be "there are," because couple is a plural word.

So your corrected sentence reads:
I am fairly sure that there are a couple more drifting around.

Grammar is fairly important to me. I place more of an emphasis on capitalization and spacing after sentences are done.

I don't complain though unless it is completely unreadable.

So no, I'm no grammar SS officer.

You don't have to be part of the SS to be a Nazi, though SS officers are usually crueller.
