Do mean like force exercise and only sell health foods? Hells no. It isn't a big enough problem that we have to call a nationwide forced change of lifestyle, the biggest thing the government can and may do is propaganda promoting healthy life styles...

im not saying exactly that much. i think theywould start say limiting the amount of sugar someone could have a day and if it gets really bad they could make it against the law to eat over 3 servings of something super unhealthy not exactly like that but something like that

If the government ever, EVER tries to reduce what I can eat, fuck this country. I'm leaving, and if anyone ever declares war on here, I'm enlisting in their military.

That would be a step to communism, witch this country hates without reason, and would probably get several politicians killed...

Also, it would rise crime rate HUGELY, because everyone will be smuggling sugar. And I mean everyone. It would end up to be a futile attempt in the end, and like Enter said, everyone will hate it.

Actually, they do plan on limiting the amount of salt companies use in their foods, which is sickening.

If people can't handle themselves, then we let it be. We shouldn't allow the government to step in and hold our hand through every problem. Every time they hold our hand, it's nearly impossible for us to make them let go. This is how government becomes too big and powerful.

Like many other things, telling people what they can and can not eat is not the buisiness of the government and they shouldn't even be allowed to consider such a thought. They can make requirnments for producers to inform the consumer what is in the product but they have no right to tell people what they can and can not eat, including salt. Still, the government seems to like to test the waters and see what it can get away with. This is an area the government needs to stay away from.

In California they are already doing this. The leader of the California State Senate has introduced legislation to tax commercial beverages at the rate of one cent for every teaspoon of added sugar and other caloric sweeteners.
