Today , I clicked on Google Chrome then AVG popped up with a warning it said WARNING VIRUS ALERT! It had the location path it was in it was C:/Program Files /Google Chrome/
It said it was a Trojan Horse Virus.
So I Uninstalled Chrome & Deleted the virus.

Is Google Chrome A Virus or was it a virus that just got into the Google Chrome folder?

There you have it. Now that you know, download some anti-spyware and anti-malware programs.

Are you sure that the problem isn't just AVG not recognizing Google Chrome? It may have falsely highlighted it as a virus if it thought Google Chrome was a threat to your computer.

Ehmm, it could have been a false positive? As in, AVG said it detected something malicious, when actually the file is completely unharmful?

If a virus did get into the Google Chrome directory (which would be in C:/Program Files/Google Chrome, if you went for default installation settings) then it would be understandable and would probably launch once Chrome's has been executed. And like aforementioned, if you didn't get it from Google a virus may have been downloaded alongside Chrome.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is very good. Have you scanned your C drive with that yet? AVG is pretty notorious for picking up false positives (I use it anyway! ).

Yep.

Just to be sure, download an anti-rootkit tool. List: Do not click on the links, Google search some of the examples there to find new versions of them.

I believe this is a case of a false positive. To be completely sure you might as well scan it with other anti-virus programs.

Mabye The link you downloaded it was spam and it had chrome but also a virus. So i doubt that chrome is a virus.

@cmb2kool

No, he downloaded Chrome from the official Google site.

So far it's either a false positive, or Chrome was infected after it was downloaded.

Your anti-virus is not strong enough to stop the trojan horse.It came into my computer 2 times I changed my anti-virus to NOD32 anti virus.Now its not comming. Quick heal is the best I think you should give it a try.
