I don't mean toally strip it out, but just make it look a little better and more appeaking to the eye.

Personally i rarely use this forum, and it is due to the fact that it looks unpolished. If maybe it had a few more textures or even better navigation i would enjoy it and use it much more.

Anyone else feel like it should look different? And if so, how?

It would help the mods more if you sent in some suggestions along. A complaint alone isn't often sufficient, but I'm sure the mods like to hear you out. Personally, I don't think it's lacking at all.

I've been to many other forums, and I like the AG forum's layout the best.

Other than the occasional glitch, I don't think this forum needs any new layout additions.

But like Healmeal said, if you turned this into a suggestion, as opposed to a complaint, it would get a better turnout.

I think it matches the whole site, if you re-did the forums, you'd have to spruce up the entire thing.

I agree. If you go on other online communities like Hallpass, Kongerate, gaia, etc., they are not as nice as the one AG.

Hmm...

Look at AG's forums, compared to others AG's is quite bare-bones. Anyway, a complaint won't help, think for a while and then come up with a brilliant set of suggestions.

What isn't appealing to the eye? What the heck do you want

AG doesn't really own all other communities.

.... anyway. Ag's forum is good and loads fast (which is the only thing I care about). The only thing that irks me is the glitches whith posts, threads, times ect.. So I think they should concentrate on that. Instead of slowing it down with textures and other useless material.

Right now, AG would be mainly focused on ease of use and simplicity.

This may change with the new version of Armor Games.

Yes I do agree but why not use the forum like a thousand of us, the forums are the same yet some of us reach for five hundred posts and still keep posting. If you want to enjoy the forums go to Forum games . Armor Games is already updating. They might just grant what a lot of us ask, though some of what we ask is really hard work for the AG staff.

This is a forum, it's not supposed to be something more enjoying than a flash game that you like, if you want it enjoying, imagine it enjoying. It's a place to discuss things, be part of things in the forum games.

I like the bare-bones style of Armor Games' forum. It's not overly flash but I don't think its structure seems like we're still using an early version of Netscape. I don't think it needs to look necessarily appealing, you come here for conversation and that aspect of the forum is functional. Keeping it simple is the best way to go.

Secondly, only a few coders make this website and the forum, whilst making the main website and all the categories isn't a huge difficulty, making a forum by hand is one of the toughest jobs in website development and even the largest companies take shortcuts like phpBB to make their forums for them. Also, with Armor Games' apparent financial difficulties it's better to keep things simple than hiring artists to go and make flowery, pretentious backgrounds and the likes.

Thirdly, I'm currently on a capped bandwidth this style is extremely handy for me.

Why navigation though? You have categories with explicit subcategories, you've got navigable sub-forums (New Thread, Reply) everything is very simple. There's nothing unnecessary like a Preview button. Just keeps things simple (and hence navigable) and functional.

I would certainly like a few things implemented to the forum but I don't think it needs to be revamped or can be made easier to navigate.
