No. Although you could probably pinch a nerve in your neck eventually, and I think it causes arthritis in the long run.

Just a quick google search got me to this...

no apparent connection between joint cracking and arthritis; however, habitual knuckle poppers did show signs of other types of damage, including soft tissue damage to the joint capsule and a decrease in grip strength. This damage is most likely a result of the rapid, repeated stretching of the ligaments surrounding the joint.

when you &quotop" your knuckles your not actually popping your bone. your popping a air bubble in your veins near your joints. that make the popping sound.

now, about &quotopping can cause arthritis"... it's a myth. there is no scientific proof of it. but, it can cause weakening of your gripping power in the long run.

weakening of your gripping power

Yes , cracking your knuckles can lead to lose of grip. This is why I have stopped cracking my knuckles .

It used to be a habit of mine but then I stopped for a few years then started again but I have stopped once I figured out it weakens your grip.

That declares why I can push extremely well but pull much less good

Hope I can stop too then :P

that is if you crack your knuckles for like 30 years straight and when you hit the ripe old age of 60 of course with decrease in musclemass, ect. grip strength will decrease also

Even if there's a loss of grip.. I doubt it's anything drastic.

i believe that popping you fingers will have very little affect on your future, let alone a negative one.

I've never purposely popped my knuckles, though I have done it, to my neck and knees also.

Your parents might even said it will give you arthritis but that's not true ... It's a myth!

Anyone ever heard of a chiropractor? He basically pops the muscles in your back. I am relatively sure that popping your knuckles (or any part of your body) makes the synovial fluid flow better through the joints. Synovial fluid is basically the lubrication between your joints. It is 100x slicker than ice.
