I pop my knuckles, fingers, and, neck alot and was wondering if this was dangerous or if theres a possability that it will make my bones weaker or make my bones more susepctable to break?
no apparent connection between joint cracking and arthritis; however, habitual knuckle poppers did show signs of other types of damage, including soft tissue damage to the joint capsule and a decrease in grip strength. This damage is most likely a result of the rapid, repeated stretching of the ligaments surrounding the joint.
when you "op" your knuckles your not actually popping your bone. your popping a air bubble in your veins near your joints. that make the popping sound.
now, about "opping can cause arthritis"... it's a myth. there is no scientific proof of it. but, it can cause weakening of your gripping power in the long run.
that is if you crack your knuckles for like 30 years straight and when you hit the ripe old age of 60 of course with decrease in musclemass, ect. grip strength will decrease also
Anyone ever heard of a chiropractor? He basically pops the muscles in your back. I am relatively sure that popping your knuckles (or any part of your body) makes the synovial fluid flow better through the joints. Synovial fluid is basically the lubrication between your joints. It is 100x slicker than ice.
