i dont want to be banned myself but i was wondering if moderators have the power to do that can someone get banned if violate the rules muiltple times or if they use swears etc.
Yes, you can get banned. Moderators can ban you for periods of 1 day, three days, and seven days depending on how bad the thing is that you did. I have experienced all of them, some more than once. But, it happens. Now administrators and site owners on the other hand, can ban you permanently, and delete your account.

Since that pretty much sums it up, I will be locking this thread to provide eager multiple answer postings that lead to spam! But yes, both Gantic and 2014631 are right. Moderators can temporarily ban you, and if I come around, I can permanently ban you! The mighty banhammer is mighty indeed.
