So I know there's was already a thread about this but I stopped looking for it after 5 pages...
But anyways, this will hopefully be the official Black Ops thread. Talk about it, discuss it, etc. Obviously, the game isn't out yet, but w/e. (That was a ****load of commas)

1) You only get two perks in mutliplayer, and this combination of perks determines your third perk. 2) There is a new armour system, e.g. Cold-Blooded and juggernaut are armours you can wear (not much detail given on this). 3) The FAMAS returns, but is no longer a 3-round burst weapon. Instead it is full-auto. 4) There is no M4. Instead another new gun mentioned seems like it will take its place, the SIG Commando. 5) Other new weapons confirmed include the RPK, Skorpion and MAC11. 6) There is no commando perk. (:]) 7) The scavenger perk is included, but no longer replenishes equipment. 8) The One man army perk is also not included. 9) The highest killstreak reward (at this time in devlelopment) is 15. 10) There is no emergency airdrop, but there is a care package. 11) As confirmed before, killstreaks will not stack. For instance, if you get a 5 kills without dying and receive your killstreak reward, the kills you get with that killstreak reward will not count towards your next killsreak (e.g. 7 kill killsteak). You will have to get two more kills, in that instance, by other means to receive your next killstreak. 12) You can sprint to prone in the current build of the game. Basically this means you can dive straight on your belly after sprinting, instead of having to stop, crouch and than go prone. 13) The tactical knife is gone, while a new knife is being introduced: the ballistic knife. This is a knife that has a spring that can shoot a blade (in real life, not necessarily in the game). 14) The claymore is a piece of equipment, and you only get 1 per life. 15) Grenades are not considered equipment, and replenished by scavenger. 16) The M16 is in the game, and still a powerful weapon. (Or as Woody puts it, still the ****!) 17) The PSG1 sniper rifle is in the game. 18) UAV, airstrike and 3 types of helicopters are back as killstreaks. The Pave Low is confirmed as well, and has a feature unique to the game. 19) The SR-71 plane is also one of the killstreak rewards.
anyone that thinks black ops will be the best game of all-time, You need some help. Last time I saw, Black Ops wasn't even out yet.
Thank you so much. That's a very good statement.
Similar story: I was watching some interviews with Treyarch about Black Ops on Youtube a few weeks ago and I saw one comment where somebody said "I think this is going to be the best game in the Call of Duty series because of all the things you can do in it." This comment made me lol because about a year and a half ago everyone was saying the same thing about Modern Warfare 2, and look what happened with that game. That's why I'm trying my best not to be excited, but right now I want to take my MW2 disc out of the case and snap it in half, and even Battlefield is making me pretty mad.

Economically, MW2 was the best CoD game of all time. As well as being the best-selling videogame of all time.
You have the ability to do this in MW@, yet no one does it now do they?
or people do do that but you just dont get killed by it
* about commando * commando isnt really a problem, or at least not the concept. if the 'lunge' of commando wasnt instant and faster then shooting, it would be fine... right? * Currency System * i like the sound of buying the gun, but not unlocking it then buying it :/ --ideas -A perk that is similar to scrambler. what it does is make the red dots on the enemies screen fade out, instead of their whole screen, making you more stealthy, but please give scrambler more range. PRO - shots where UAV and counter UAVs are on the map, you dont appear on the cameras (or will there be cold blooded to do that?) disables enemy explosive devises that are electronic (claymores, C4, stopps the semtex timer, etc.) crossbow ammunition types: explosive (you know), poison - when shot, the target slowely dies, Rope - doesnt kill a person in one shot besides in the head/neck. allows you to shoot an object then climb up it, like a grapple and it says there for (insert time) as a ladder. shotgun ammunition - slugs, like a bullet from the shotgun, gas - shoots gas shells into a room and the room fills with teargas, making the enemies screen fade red from the outside and completely go black (closed eyes) from envelopement. Beanbag ammunution - used as punishment. when shot with it, you fall to the ground and lose the weapon you have out, challenges and bonus money for these kills?

Commando isn't the problem, the overall knife lunge is. At is 10x better than W@W, even without commando. If the knife range was shortened, the commando would have about the range of mw2's current non-commando knife range. Thus, it would be fair...er

The Ghost perk acts as the new cold-blooded. The Hacker perk will act as sitrep, Bomb squad.

Well, yeah, it was obviously the best selling CoD game and beat GTA IV as the best-selling video game, but I'm talking about the playability of the game, not how many copies it sells.
Also, I Black Ops better be as balanced as possible. Balanced weapons=less try-hards=more mature/smart players=less 10 year old BK randies screaming into the mic=less trolls on machinima respawn videos.

yuh it wouldnt be a scrambler then would it! it would be a cloak. Thats the meaning of scramler to scramble someones signal, omg lol.

Perhaps in Black Ops they unlock different stuff if you prestige like: 1st: Facepaints + 20% exp bonus 2nd: Decals and gun decoration stuff + 20% money bonus 3rd: More Facepaints + 50% exp bonus 4th: More Decals and gun decoration stuff + 50% money bonus 5th: Several new Titles and Emblems + 100% both bonus

True. The Cold-Blooded perk is going to be called Ghost now I think. Also gives you a 'ghillie suit', which is excellent!
They could call it 'radio silence'. Of course that will remove the stealth factor if you fire a weapon, thus maintaining the importance of a silenced weapon.

I would appreciate it if it were generally harder to actually kill people in Black Ops. Not necessarily in the health or damage balancing, but by skill itself.
People go into public servers and generally think they are really good when they get top of the boards. No offense, but they're not. They aren't fighting against seasoned people that fight others of the same skill level.
You won't get better playing the easiest mode for the campaign many times over. You'll get better by going from Regular to Veteran. Probably.
Same with multiplayer, it works for any game genre, obviously.
In other words - try a CoD version that requires more intense skill other than MW2 (MW2 lacks more balanced servers like ProMod for CoD4, where more veteran players used to fight). I suggest playing CoD4 ProMod - likely to die the first few times and you must get used to attack grenades (pre-mature grenades that trap you in its radius by the time it lands), quicker reactions and some other things.
