So I know there's was already a thread about this but I stopped looking for it after 5 pages...
But anyways, this will hopefully be the official Black Ops thread. Talk about it, discuss it, etc. Obviously, the game isn't out yet, but w/e. (That was a ****load of commas)

1) You only get two perks in mutliplayer, and this combination of perks determines your third perk. 2) There is a new armour system, e.g. Cold-Blooded and juggernaut are armours you can wear (not much detail given on this). 3) The FAMAS returns, but is no longer a 3-round burst weapon. Instead it is full-auto. 4) There is no M4. Instead another new gun mentioned seems like it will take its place, the SIG Commando. 5) Other new weapons confirmed include the RPK, Skorpion and MAC11. 6) There is no commando perk. (:]) 7) The scavenger perk is included, but no longer replenishes equipment. 8) The One man army perk is also not included. 9) The highest killstreak reward (at this time in devlelopment) is 15. 10) There is no emergency airdrop, but there is a care package. 11) As confirmed before, killstreaks will not stack. For instance, if you get a 5 kills without dying and receive your killstreak reward, the kills you get with that killstreak reward will not count towards your next killsreak (e.g. 7 kill killsteak). You will have to get two more kills, in that instance, by other means to receive your next killstreak. 12) You can sprint to prone in the current build of the game. Basically this means you can dive straight on your belly after sprinting, instead of having to stop, crouch and than go prone. 13) The tactical knife is gone, while a new knife is being introduced: the ballistic knife. This is a knife that has a spring that can shoot a blade (in real life, not necessarily in the game). 14) The claymore is a piece of equipment, and you only get 1 per life. 15) Grenades are not considered equipment, and replenished by scavenger. 16) The M16 is in the game, and still a powerful weapon. (Or as Woody puts it, still the ****!) 17) The PSG1 sniper rifle is in the game. 18) UAV, airstrike and 3 types of helicopters are back as killstreaks. The Pave Low is confirmed as well, and has a feature unique to the game. 19) The SR-71 plane is also one of the killstreak rewards.
Seems like all I want to talk about is quickscoping (This is Josh Olin btw, you'll understand if you saw the movie) but OpTic_IBuLiVeD has the game early and uploaded this sniper gameplay and it looks like quickscoping isn't gimped. It's probably pre-patch though, because I heard quickscoping is pretty bad. There's gonna have to be another petition going around...
There's gonna have to be another petition going around...
why? i think quick scoping is fun and takes skill but i like to think in online fps you need to think tactically. snipers camp looking out for their team mates, there not supposed to be on the front lines.
do you remember that scene on saving private brian when that sniper was running towards the enemy and quickscoped him, you dont, really. oh yeah because thats based on true war. like i said snipers look out for team mates and if they do need to change position they stay close to someone with a rifle using there secondary weapon.
i would like it if quick scoping in private matches was available because i really do think its a fun thing to do with your friends, but i would really loose disrespect in treyarch if they brought back something that they said theyre self is cheap

BFBC2 Snipers are excellent for spotting enemy units, which temporarily show up on your Field of View AND on the UAV, which does more than help lookout for your allies. Also BFBC2 sponsors an excellent point system, if an enemy is killed and you was the one who spotted him (if he died whilst being spotted) then you get 20 points - that's 2/5 a kill, and if it's Squad Scensor Assist, it's 30 points - over half a kill. Pair this with a Kill Assist (10 Points), Critical Kill Assist (30 Points) or Squad ones (10+) and you're looking at points basically that of a normal kill.
Also, Snipers are exceptionally far range on BFBC2 :P
that they said theyre self is cheap
As game designers, yes they've every right to call it cheap. If a player calls another player who quickscoped him cheap, then he's wrong. Anyone who quickscopes and it results in mostly positive outcomes (for that player) isn't being cheap, if they make it so that quickscoping won't be positive, then it'll be useless, which is the intention :P
Thus making most quickscopes in Black Ops cheap.. :P
Meh quickscoping is just harder, and instead of 10 year olds who can quickscope your *** from the other side of the map, its now a skillful thing to do again, rather than a way to show off for the teeming masses. It'll be a good challenge.
Oh and some of you may know the nursery rhyme:
"Remember remember the 5th of November Gunpowder, treason and plot I see no reason why gunpowder, treason Should ever be forgot"
Well I made this up in like half a minute:
"Remember remember the 5th of November The day that Black Ops was bought I see no reason why the best game ever Should ever be forgot"
I'm sorry, but are you dumb? I'm pro-quickscoping. How could you not notice that, when I put a picture of Brick Tamland and said he was Josh Olin, because Josh Olin (JD_2020) and the rest of Treyarch do not approve of quickscoping.
Some of those shots were kinda lucky imo, but it doesn't look as hard as I expected, but who knows, Josh Olin seems to care a lot about this game and is probably working really hard to fix anything he doesn't like.
