So I know there's was already a thread about this but I stopped looking for it after 5 pages...
But anyways, this will hopefully be the official Black Ops thread. Talk about it, discuss it, etc. Obviously, the game isn't out yet, but w/e. (That was a ****load of commas)

1) You only get two perks in mutliplayer, and this combination of perks determines your third perk. 2) There is a new armour system, e.g. Cold-Blooded and juggernaut are armours you can wear (not much detail given on this). 3) The FAMAS returns, but is no longer a 3-round burst weapon. Instead it is full-auto. 4) There is no M4. Instead another new gun mentioned seems like it will take its place, the SIG Commando. 5) Other new weapons confirmed include the RPK, Skorpion and MAC11. 6) There is no commando perk. (:]) 7) The scavenger perk is included, but no longer replenishes equipment. 8) The One man army perk is also not included. 9) The highest killstreak reward (at this time in devlelopment) is 15. 10) There is no emergency airdrop, but there is a care package. 11) As confirmed before, killstreaks will not stack. For instance, if you get a 5 kills without dying and receive your killstreak reward, the kills you get with that killstreak reward will not count towards your next killsreak (e.g. 7 kill killsteak). You will have to get two more kills, in that instance, by other means to receive your next killstreak. 12) You can sprint to prone in the current build of the game. Basically this means you can dive straight on your belly after sprinting, instead of having to stop, crouch and than go prone. 13) The tactical knife is gone, while a new knife is being introduced: the ballistic knife. This is a knife that has a spring that can shoot a blade (in real life, not necessarily in the game). 14) The claymore is a piece of equipment, and you only get 1 per life. 15) Grenades are not considered equipment, and replenished by scavenger. 16) The M16 is in the game, and still a powerful weapon. (Or as Woody puts it, still the ****!) 17) The PSG1 sniper rifle is in the game. 18) UAV, airstrike and 3 types of helicopters are back as killstreaks. The Pave Low is confirmed as well, and has a feature unique to the game. 19) The SR-71 plane is also one of the killstreak rewards.
I've been playiyn since day it came out, and the Campaign reminded slightly of AC2, and the storyline/plot was just amazing... the AI and combat scenes could use a bit of work, but my favorite move would definitly be in Vukata ( when you first go into the outside world from the mines) when the huge dude w/ the Axe absolutely destroys the guard :P.
The multiplayer.... there are a few weapons i am real good using ( Falil, AK-74u, MPL, Tomahawk, Ballistic Knife), but otherwise i'd rate it average. The bullet-person collision really needs some work, and i remember one time on Nuketown, i quickscoped ( which made it twice as amazing considering the anti-quickscope thing) somebody with a L96A1 through a glass window, hit em in the chest, and HE ISN'T DEAD?!?! with a bolt-action like the L96, the server actually recognizing the hit is crucial, yet it doesn't.
And the servers ( on ps3 at least) need some work. Multiple times i have had a 'transmission error', 'game lobby closed', or a ' could not migrate host'. Especially when i'm really groovin with my favorite weapons, i really hate this because it really interrupts the flow+ is just plain annoying.
Zombie mode... i am just exploring this. Kino der Untoten... meh, it was OK, but the level layout wasn't too good. Five, online i have only reached level 12 and reached the laboratory area ( is there another level after the laboratory one??), but otherwise i'd rate it an A+. I didn't find anything wrong with it, and the layout is just perfect to provide just the right amount of claustrophobia, confined spaces and adequate ( or lack thereof) lighting. The ( SPOILER!) warping zombie was really fun+ quite intense trying to kill, but we made it. One thing i don't like about warp zombie is that you lose all your guns except the starter pistol, which really sucked cuz there weren't a lot of gun buys on the lab area that i knew of...

You are able to kill him before he takes your weapon btw
I beat the campaign this morning, and I've gotta say the last few missions are just a big, giant mind****. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but omg, my mind was blown.
So my complaints about the matchmaking and connection are gone now, but I have a problem with something that was put in the multiplayer. It was there in CoD 4, it was there in WaW, and it was there in MW2: Last Stand/Second Chance. It is by far the cheapest thing in the game so far. It already takes a lot of bullets to kill somebody, so why put a crutch that will take more bullets to kill the person? Also, if it's close range, like right on the person, and you put them in last stand, they can knife you and kill you. And if you didn't die from them knifing you, they shoot you once with the pistol and you die. I ran into a team of people on TDM all with Last Stand and I rage quit.
There could have been a lot of stuff they should have made better in Black-Ops, one thing is that the graphics on PS3 isn't as good as the graphics of Mod2. There's some great features they added to it. If they would have put all the features into Mod2 that would have been awesome!!!
i have just relised if you look at the begining before it came out but bata was out people were complaning of the lack of quick scopes now that blow over or the zombies no one really went for the zombies but they are so good but i don't know it still rokes i wonder what cod 8 will be like

the knife is like commando and it gets you round corners and you can be behind them they stab forward and kill you
I agree, the knifing is much like commando with no perk, I hope they fix it because Im not going to play on it as much, but in the mean time I have AC brotherhood when it comes out tomorrow
