Should people get an excess amount of points for starting threads? And before some mod comes and locks it because it'll cause spam, can't yo simply give warnings if people start making random threads for points?
Look at it this way: Do you get two points for making a game? No. You you get more points for making a game than for commenting on one.
However we need to bear in mind that this is a gaming site. No games = no members. So to give more points to someone making games and providing the backbone of the site seems logical. And we can earn merits for outstanding reviews, which if taken into account help game makers to produce better quality games, thus improving the quality of the site. Again, seems fairly logical.
AP stands for Armor Points and are given to you when you do the following:
A) Post a comment on either another users profiel or to a game. 2 AP B) Rate a game which you can do right about the comment section. 2 AP I think. C) By posting in the forums. Now I don't you get points for the OP (Original Post). 1 Ap D) Submitting Games which will get you about 20 AP. E) Earning a merit which only happens in the games comments. 25 AP
And regarding that, i feel that there should be no points for comments on other members profiles, or for beginning a thread. By offering them for comments on member pages it reduces those after AP to sending all communique via the member comments section as opposed to using private messages, which seems like an ineffective method of communication. And I see many people starting senseless threads for no other reason than to just have another place to post for points. Seems juvenile to me.
What do points get you?
Nothing really. You can use new armatars (the icons next to your name on your posts and profile) and a new rank which does nothing unless you care about showing off how much free time you have to spend posting comments.
This AG points system all seems stupid to me. You can get two points minimum for every thread. You just need to split one message into two messages and you get AG points. All it encourages is people to, in my eyes, spam people's profile's with welcome comments. This is actually my only real complaint. Stop spamming my profile with welcome comments. Other than that, I'm fine with the AG Points. Hypocrisy, I know.
hmm no spams my comments. I think it is good the threads and the rest are only one and you have to work to get a merit otherwise would be too easy to shoot up ranks even though I realize that some people just go around putting one word comments on every gamw of this site. >[]<
I honestly don't think we should be rewarded for starting a thread or posting on the forums. We post here to have discussions for fun and such. If we wanted the AP, we would just go spamming profiles.
