The new King was not very bright and he hated books and scholars so he ordered every libraries, schools, monasteries, etc to be destroyed so that nobody would be smarter than him.
After the destruction of the knowledge buildings the population rebelled and beheaded the King and his family. Soon after they established their new GOVERNMENT CENTER in the old Palace.
The King allies declared war to the new sovereign state.
The Merchant was going to The BLACKSMITH SHOP to recuperate his cart. On his way, he met a traveling Wizard not knowing that some bandits were after his magic rod.
