First off, domestic violence is not a federal offense. Secondly, he was proven guilty and was given 5 years of probation.

He wasn't accepting an award for outstanding treatment of women. He was ENTERTAINING people because he is an ENTERTAINER.
He is probably the most popular artist in modern r&b/whatever and was friends with Michael Jackson so it makes sense that they would have him perform. His actions outside of the entertainment business really have nothing to do with it and it was purely for entertainment purposes. You're making way too big of deal out of it.
I honestly don't know what to say. I honestly don't know why he was chosen to do a tribute. I didn't watch the awards, but it's possible that people forgot about him beating the **** out of Rihanna. I hate how that's possible, the fact that they must've forgotten about it. I saw a picture of Rihanna's face after being mauled by him and it was terrible.

Honestly, I do think you're making to big a deal out of this, yes he deserved to get his ass kicked after he beat up Rhianna, but that is his personal life.
