What is the worst littering situation you have been in or seen?!

I always look on the sides of the highway. tons of trash all piled up. It's sort of depressing!

Insert the word joke somewhere in the above post =P

If everyone threw everything away at the same time, the landfills would fill up too quickly. So littering is actually good for balancing the amount of trash entering the landfills at one time.

Exactly! It has been proven that garbage that decomposes in a short time (10 years, 20 years, etc.) decomposes slower when placed with garbage that takes longer (plastic shopping bags) And landfills take a long time to decompose because there isn't enough air circulation it it's depths to allow for proper decomposition. If all the garbage is spread out then it decomposes quicker

No, littering is good. Throwing your trash anywhere you want? What could be more lazy?

True, True...But think of the cute penguins. They aren't a renewable resource!

I don't know about most litterbugs, but I don't go all the way down to Antarctica just to throw a piece of trash away. And the trash thrown on the ground here will probably not reach the penguins, unless it somehow finds its way into the ocean and floats all the way down in the exact direction of Antarctica. So know, I'm not going to think of the penguins right now.

You've never seen a National Geographic where the penguin has a 6-pack around its neck?

I live rather close to the ocean but I've never actually littered there. It's too far away for my laziness to take me.

Some people aren't lazy. Hard to believe in America these days, I know.

As I said, dying animals are good for the environment

Correct! If we don't kill animals, they'll overpopulate and die off more quickly. Luckily for them, we litter!
