Wow. I seriously almost forgot all bout my buddies on AG! Really. Soo it's been about 3 weeks or so and already so much has happened since then. Do I even remember one guy here? Oh wait Cen. Yep!
Got some pics, funny stories, and the works into this thread, so bear with me on this one. So the whole story is, after graduation, my folks took me, my aunt, uncle, and 2 of my cousins. From Indiana. Straight into Alaska. By RV. 7 people. One RV. BIG disaster. So uhh... where to start? Question of the night. Or day. See, I'm used to Eastern time, yet, I'm in Pacific time. 4 hours behind schedule. *cry*
This is me (left) and my cousin (right) on the hills of North Dakota as we were making our way to the border into Canada. This took about a week from Indiana by the way. lotsa grittin of the teeth.
that's all for now! Currently in Homer Alaska, I'll get more pics in tomorrow
I'm 6 foot even, which makes Gavin 6'2". This sucks.
Frank.
Thank ya
Wasn't the water like really cold or something?
What's the freezing point of water again? 0 Celsius so 32 Fahrenheit? It was 33. Like I said: colder than Poseidon's nipples.
I thought you temorary quit.
Well see, I was going to update my profile and such, but when you're traveling cross-country, getting internet is like winning at Horseshoes. The beginning of this thread is one such miracle.
Did you go on a charter? And why is there no salmon?
Yep we went on charters to catch halibut and rock bass. The reason why there was no salmon in this picture is because we never caught any. Catching salmon in a charter boat is tricky; you have to troll while cranking up the rod every few feet we move higher in shore. If we went on that Cap'n's last charter, we would have gotten many salmon. So many, it would have to be categorized as 'much'.
Did you go to Canada itself?
Forgot to answer Firetail's question. Yes, we went to Canada. We actually had to since that's the only way to get to Alaska via crazy bus. But when we DID get to Canada, we saw buffalo. A crap ton of buffalo. South-western Canada and Northwestern U.S. has 95% of the entire buffalo population which is somewhere around 1950. I know they finally peaked 2000 recently.
But look! A genuine baby buffalo! Aww it's so cute!
In an attempt to woo the masses, have people know things that people may never see, and also bringheagepncegainoeopleaneply, I will now show you something that only people may only see once, maybe twice in a lifetime: a 62 year old redneck playing Mario Kart.
