@R2D21999 : Meh... lucky guess I guess? =P

@jonathen : In general dear sir... 'Robots' in general. Anything related to the robot topic currently goes.
@jonathen (2) : That's not a robot... stick to the topic please? Thank you. =)

I myself have always been fond of the Tripods in 'War of the Worlds'!

Somehow, they seem really cool and strike fear at the same time! =)

Does the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz count as a robot? I've always wondered.

Techincally that would make him a cyborg which is still half robot. Plus that 'heart' was actually a watch in the shape of a heart, so it still makes him a robot.

Except he was once human, and had his body replace with tin because his cursed axe kept cutting stuff.

Tripods are piloted by martians, so I wouldn't classify them as robots.

Besides, these tripods are better

Wat? He became tin because his axe kept cutting stuff? I'm going to guess that becoming tin didn't help him with his axe problem.

I never really watched "robot cartoons" and if I did I certainly won't remember the theme.

Sort of, he was trying to woo some guy's daughter, he didn't like that so he went to a witch for help.

So the witch made the ax cut off one of his limbs, which didn't work, eventually all 4, and then the head, and then the torso, were cut to pieces by the witch's manipulations of the ax. After each "accident" a tinsmith replaced the limb.

At least, that's how I remember it, been a long time since I read the wizard of oz.
