This is a bit of a forum game, but at the same time it has the capacity to result in a bit of poetry, so it goes here. I'm going to supply a line of poetry, and the following poster is to create a poem using the line I gave as their first. Along with their poem, they supply a line for the next person to write poetry on. No restrictions on the type of line or poetry; just keep the line open ended.

Here's the first line:

A mountain pokes out awkward in the mist

The birds calling
The rabbits calling
Spring hase come to us
To sing and dance

To sing and dance
To love in trance

To lighten our heart
To make us smart
Winter is behind
Snow and ice divine

To sing and dance
To love in trance

Flowers blooming
Mice are wooing
Summer, Winter
Too hot and yet too cold
Spring is the happier
Fall, the sadder.

To sing and dance
To love in trance

For the time has come
To finish war
To end poverty
To help each man

Put down your guns
And listen to the hearts of children that have fallen in your greed
For the time has come

Peace is a must
Peace is a must

For the time has come

To end hate
To end greed
To stop this plague

Children are the future
Children are dying

For the time has come
to finish

Good gods this thread is dead.

Locked in solitude,
Mid blooms, it waits to emerge
From the rotten egg.

Down the wistful whine of a flute
Upon the mournful morning breeze
Stands a mountain of barest rock
My lonely, grey fortress of peace

The cleansing drops of the purest rain,
Its only you that gain.
The power seaping through,
Power touching me and you.

The sick is now healed,
The grass starts growing in the field.
Everything is better at last,
It happened so fast.

The cleansing drops of purest rain.

The man still stands

The man still stands,
where once, in this land
he lived with no care or a worry

He longs for those days
When he could go say
that he never was in a hurry

But those days are gone
and he still stands in the lawn
of the place he used to call home

He had run out of money
lost the girl he called 'honey'
and found that he was alone.

The man finally goes
himself all in woe
hoping, for a change in fortune

No one knows where he goes
seems to join in the flow
but now, he has no fortune.

I am the Walrus,
tusks like steel.
A giants roar,
living in packs.

We cry our cry,
as we talk.
With our thick skin,
we slowly walk.

I am the Walrus,
doent stand with me.
What suits us better,
is that I should be We

(Where be the spontaneous creativity? D

The cry of the hawk
Like a chicken bawk bawk
Is a stereotyped sound like a moo

The call of a cow
Like a feline meow meow
Is a stereotyped sound like a hoo

The scream of an owl
Like a canine howl howl
Is a stereotyped sound like achoo

The sound of a sneeze
Like the buzzing bees bees
Is a stereotyped sound like a coo

The song of a dove
Like a human love love
Is my stereotyped sound for you

The wind whistles quietly
Across the chimney top.
The warm cup is empty;
I've drunk the last drop.
The wires sway silently,
As if they'll never stop.
The telephone sits soundlessly;
I've not yet heard from pop.

Tomorrow is a Sunday.
The lazy sun rises slow;
A day reserved for quite play
family in tow.
Freedom from work, freedom from school
Freedom that I rue.
Freedom might seem pretty cool,
but the next day is Sunday too.

I need practice writing poetry. My tone is a bit inconsistent here, an the first few lines are awkward.

{Same Old Lang Syne -- Dan Fogelberg?)

The snow turns to rain,
and I stop to watch
the flakes melt to drops.
As I walk to work,
I smell the coffee
swell in the lobby.
I muse if the flakes,
which patterned the cups,
would melt into drops.

Your uplifting smile,
It brightens my day,
Entices the sun,
Drives the rainclouds away.

But yet when you frown,
Anguish enters my mind
'Cause you don't realise;
You're the sun to my shine.

Woe is the reason
