This is a bit of a forum game, but at the same time it has the capacity to result in a bit of poetry, so it goes here. I'm going to supply a line of poetry, and the following poster is to create a poem using the line I gave as their first. Along with their poem, they supply a line for the next person to write poetry on. No restrictions on the type of line or poetry; just keep the line open ended.

Here's the first line:

A mountain pokes out awkward in the mist

A polished stone from the beach

A polished stone from the beach
Tumbled in from out of reach
Bringing sand along its trail
Landing on my finger nail

From within its lustrous glow
I saw days of ancient snow
Sliding downs in glaciers cold
Beaten up in streams of old

I toss the stone out of reach
Somewhere down the quiet beach
Someone else will find it now
As my sand ship needs a prow

The Sand Pirate Spurious Dave
Had lived his whole life in a cave
When he got on his boat
But when he set it afloat
He was thrown overboard by a wave

The creepy guy across the street,
Had several hands instead of feet.
As mocking was his neighbour's joy,
He adopted the name 'Monkey Boy'

My name was scribbled on the wall,
The neat work of your own,
You said I'd never get this tall,
But now I am alone.

Your death was quick,
It shocked me to my core.
With but a single click,
Through your body the bullet tore.

And now I stand alone with my name,
Looking down upon the years.
Younger were we when we played this game,
And now I see your work through tears.

Cold, rejected and alone...

Cold, rejected, and alone,
No greater love was ever shown
When all the weight of sin he took
On shoulders scourged that weakly shook.

There is death inside the pot
They call it reefer madness
to be trapped there is a sorry lot
the prisoners locked under sadness

That last poem was a bit of a joke
No kidding, it was for junkie folk.
Perhaps next time you'll tickle us
With humor that's less frivolous.

Did you just smell a burn?
Why, I believe I did.
and while this almost goes without saying
I also thought my poem was stupid

No need here for the silly games,
Your father says as he maims,
You and your brother,
After killing your mother.

We don't need to play 'em.
All you gotta do is...
Straight up tell 'em
The truth

Summer draws to close
So does the flight of chicken men
Heralding the adipose
Finger lickin' hen

Hark! Furious Knave!
Curb thy insolent tongue,
Lest you overstep your bounds.

Hark! Furious Knave!
Your rebellion is tiring.
Cease lest thy life bleed away.

That was interesting to say the least.

Life inside a glass house.
If-
Fecklessly punctuated, then at the most.
