This is a bit of a forum game, but at the same time it has the capacity to result in a bit of poetry, so it goes here. I'm going to supply a line of poetry, and the following poster is to create a poem using the line I gave as their first. Along with their poem, they supply a line for the next person to write poetry on. No restrictions on the type of line or poetry; just keep the line open ended.
The epic armorgames dwarf the competitors, awash in the size of the gatherings of settlers. As winners and losers are ticked off in light, some perish, some buckle, and others still fight.
The bird flies in the breeze. It carries a pointed delivery. It's sent with too much ease by the experts in national livery. The hope that's held off extinction, that cooler heads will prevail, continues without the distinction of being unable to fail. Unless we halt division, and learn to drop our walls, this Babel we've envisioned may find its rigored fall. So understand a stranger, and know that you're one too. It alleviates the danger of thinking the untrue.
The original post in this thread called for poems rather than just verses, so I went for something a touch longer.
In fevered dream, barely recalled, I sit and eat, although I'm appalled. The forest is dark. I'm all alone. No life, just moss and stone. I awake at night, in a cold sweat, and think about the time, true love I met.
