I have searched for polls on internet to see this but havnt found any popular ones, so i decided to put this here to get an idea of what people like best. I think it would be cool if this site had like weekly polls though that would be cool. Also i used the forum search to check if this already existed, all i found was Pizza vs Burger o.O
Personally i think mustard beats ketchup all they way. The ONLY time i eat ketchup is on hashbrowns and french fries, sometimes i eat mustard with french fries instead. In terms of heath mustard wins exept that it has a ton of sodium.
Ok so i want to know now what you people prefer, as i say am Mustard FTW!
Thats kind of hard and general. Mustard is gross all by itself, and ketchup is tolerable all by itself. But mustard is awesome if you cook with it. A simple soy and dijon mustard mix will make for a fantastic dipping sauce that ketchup would otherwise destroy. But I would definitely not go topping my meatloaf with mustard. And a pastrami sandwiche would be a sin if you put ketchup on it. "I don't care if your from philly. Ketchup does not belong on a cheese steak!"
Anyways. For cooking purposes Mustard all the way. You don't use ketchup in anything to cook with. Atleast I would not, because I only use fresh tomatoes to make anything that would resemble a ketchup flavor.
But just eating all by itself. Ketchup all the way. A mouth full of mustard seed would probably make most people barf.
Ketchup is more of that "slap this on it and forgot what your even eating" thing. I find ketchup intolerant with nearly anything, eating ketchup plain i would sooner dip a pickle in mustard and eat it (yummy!)
Mustard is more passive i consider it the GOD of condiments.
I use ketchup only for french fries, mixted with mayonnaise. Sometimes a bit of mustard with meat; we have some neat mustard with various things in it, like lemon aroma and special pepper.. but I don't use it often. And I hate mustard from Dijon, it has a special taste in it that apparently makes it famous, but which I dislike strongly.
I use ketchup mote than I use mustard. I only use mustard on sammiches. I use ketchup for fries, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. I like both, but I prefer ketchup.
I like mustard far better. Ketchup has its place, for instance meatloaf. But on sanwiches/hamburgers, I would rather just have a slice of tomato. Ketchup is to sweet for me.
But mustard is great on chicken, beef, in sauces, on sandwiches...
When I was really little I would eat plain mustard. True story.
