Hmm. I don't like the term newbie being used based on someone's post count. I think that some people who are new here will offer a lot to the community. I may be new to this forums but I have been around on Kongregate for around 3 years. I have decided to join Armor Games as they seem to be publishing a lot of the games I enjoy. I have quite a lot of programming experience so after getting to grips with ActionScript 3.0 I will start making games. And that's my life story.
Well after I finish my Xbox Indie Game. "All Squared Up" (A kind of retro spin off of some awesome games with lots of added features) then I will start creating flash games. However I need an artist. I have a music company in my list of contacts to help me in that area.
not true look at kight fo instances, hes not a newbie.
Look at the terminology, If your not a 'staff' member, your below them, which would make you a newbie in the hierarchy. That was not a personal hit at anyone.
Well I am a newbie myself as I just joined this year. But I don't spam like some other newbies. I am just aiming to have some fun and new friends on the World Wide Web. It really does annoy me sometimes when people go around posting only one word on a forum. I did that once but that is because I was really really tired. It was almost 3 am!
If your not a Staff member, your a newbie; It's just how the cookie crumbles in our direction.
No Uproar, a newbie refers to one who is inexperienced or new to something. Not to everyone in a forum who isn't a staff member. users are usually divided into groups of regulars and newbies. Then there are the in-between people and the regulars who've been around for a very long time.

I know this, being on forums for around a decade now, it's a normal process in any forum, although in my terminology, as i posted above, my comment was using a hierarchy format, and how everyone below staff is a 'newbie'.
I agree with uproar. newbie is a term that is being used more and more often for all the people below us in some type of way eg. Hah! you only have 9 posts newbie (These posts could be well thought out intellectual posts) Hah! you joined in 2006 I joined in 2004 newbie. ect

Ah. Though from my experience, regulars aren't really called newbies. Newcomers are newbies.
Though the staff here, don't call us regulars newbies, they only refer to newcomers as newbies.

That's retarded. You can't call someone a newbie if they've been on a forum for a long time too, just a little less longer than you
Hah! you only have 9 posts newbie
Well, people with 9 posts really are newcomers. Even if they are smart and sensible people. I still refer to them as newbies.
In my book newbies are newcomers. They are below us (as regulars) in time spent on these forums and reputation. A very intelligent person who came yesterday and began to debate is still a newbie.
Well, I think a lot of people joined because of Exit Path, so they decided to try out AG. I think maybe the first month or so on ArmorGames you are a newbie.
