I read this book called the giver and it ended up that all of the people in this communtity except for two couldn't see color. It got me thinking about how a person could describe color to someone that didn't see color. It seems like it would be nearly impossible. I think sound would be just as hard to describe as color. Which do you think would be harder to describe and why. Also, how would you describe sound and or color.
I can see both of the numbers, good for me! Have any of ya'll heard of synesthesia? It's an awesome disorder, haha if you can call any disorders awesome. But if I had to chose to have any disorder that would be the one.
I'd describe color and sound in their scientific definitions because really it's pretty hard to tell what it feels like having color and sound. Aknerd's suggestion is pretty good. Associating colors with smells, textures, etc.
I read the Giver awesome book I dub it depressing though killing the babies and all sad. Anyways like Nater said, we should probably say something simple. These are called colors. Lawl.
Color is a big question for people who are actually totally blind. Explaining the color blue could be explained by the way ice feels cold, or red for the way fire feels hot, soft cotton for white, and so on. Explaining sound is done in the same sort of fashion.
As far as being color blind, I am color blind. I have trouble with reds, greens, blues, and yellows. There is a really cool test though for those who are color blind. Like the test above where if you look at it you can see a number inside however you can only see these numbers inside if you are colorblind. Color normal people would not see these numbers. I believe the military is a big fan of this particular test because it would help them find hidden things that color normal people could not see, E.G a camouflage scud launcher.
