Have you ever wanted to make hot steaming french toast!? Follow these steps, and you will soon be basking in eggy-bread goodness.
-4 eggs per loaf of bread (1 egg per slice of bread) -Non-stick spray or butter/margarine -1/3 cup milk per egg -Cinnamon (optional) -1/4 teaspoon Vanilla (optional) -Bread (as many slices as you want) -Powdered sugar(optional)
Non-stick spray?! What the... This is a thing that shouldn't even exist. I mean, butter is in every household.. However, your recipe sounds pretty good. But it's just a list of ingredients, there aren't any steps to follow like you say.. either that or I'm in my stupid phase again^^
4 eggs per loaf of bread (1 egg per slice of bread)
I find it odd that your loafs of bread only consist of four slices.
Also, would consider broadening the theme of your thread to include all breakfast recipes/tips/foods etc? French Toast might not be enough to carry a thread...
I guess this thread is a crash and burn since no one seems interested in sharing their gourmet creations anymore :<.
Well, Shadow didn't give me permission to share pancake recipes, and I didn't want to jack the thread until it had at least reached three pages.
But he seems to be gone, so I'll just post it anyway.
I use Alton Brown's (because he is a god) recipe for the batter.
But I don't like how he cooks his pancakes, because he uses an electric griddle. Which is vastly inferior to the cast iron skillet.
The secret to perfect pancakes is in the temperature of the skillet. It's just right when water won't stick to the pan (it looks like a ball) but doesn't jump right off the pan either. A good sized drop of water should last about 3-4 seconds.
Besides that it's pretty easy to make a pancake. I like mine on the largish side, with minimal toppings.
Oh, and I usually halve AB's recipe, which ends up with 4 pancakes for me and one for the dog.
