Me right? Anywhoo, there are many people that have received merits. For example. Look at Gantic's profile. Proves that people do indeed receive merits.
This Forum still has some good posts but most of them are junk. IDK if you were here when that Hukapalooza troll was here, but most of his threads were spam, trolling, and of course junk, but they were funny lets see if I can find the links.

Don't get me wrong, things like the video games, WEPR, etc. has some amazing topics. But this...The Tavern *shudders for dramatic effect* place has really degraded in terms of topic quality.
In a percent it would probably go something like this:
40%- This or that, preference, what if questions 20&- 1 word response topics 10&- Just plain stupid stuff 10&- "I just found __ On the internet! Isn't it cool?" 5&- Thought out, interesting topic (commonly found in the WEPR though) 5%- GOODEngaging topics that provoke posts 3&- Threads that were in the wrong section 2&- Locked threads 2%- Flame wars 1&- Food-related stuff
You can always find interesting topics in the WEPR, provided they aren't repeats. Anything mainstream, such as religion and 2012 are all topics to avoid. We want something NEW, which isn't that hard to find and make.
