I don't think that pink is a girly color. As they say, "It takes a true man to wear pink."

I wear pink sometimes, usually Light pink Polo's. What do you guys think? Whats your favorite color? Mine is green because green is awesome.

I really need to understand their meaning of "appropriate"...

A good choice, something that would generically fit everybody.

I can see how red would be considered more masculine, but pink? You would think they'd go for the darker color rather than the lighter.

Society's perceptions change. Maybe in the future darker colors will be more feminine and lighter colors masculine?

pink was considered appropriate for boys because being related to red it was the more masculine and decided color

I can understand that.
while blue was considered appropriate for girls because it was the more delicate and dainty color, or related to the Virgin Mary.
That, I can't.

True...

I'm wondering about the blue too, did the Virgin Mary wear blue?

Depends really the Virgin Mary had many aparitions. But then there's the actual Virgin Mary, but the colors that she wore couldn't possibly be known for sure.

no. People say it's girly (btw girly isn't in the dictionary) because lots of little girls like pink as a colour and even if they don't, they are forced too. But once they get older the change colour until they hit black...boom!

If this works, then there should be a lot of pictures of Our Lady.

Men usually wear darker colours and women wear bright colours.

Crap, I've been doing it wrong.

Aside from black (obviously), I usually wear loud colours, which is why my wardrobe contains a range of hues from cerise to hot pink to lavender.

Well the Virgin sems to be wearing a lot of blue, as far as I can see she isn't too fond of pink.
