After much internal debate, I've decided to buy a refurbished Arcade, and then buy a 20 Gig hard drive from Ebay. Do you all think this is a good Idea? I haven't actually made the purchase, but I am close to a final decision.

Please leave your thoughts/opinions on my stupidity.

Also: HDMI computer monitor or HDTV?

I guess I should have put the prices in.

Xbox 360 Refurbished: $129.99
Hard Drive: $20.50
HDMI Monitor: Around $150

I'd go with the T.V.

However, it is so important to get a much bigger hard drive. You might be interested in the new Xbox 360 Slim, which is much, much better compared to what you're getting now. And, with the tax in Canada, is half a dollar cheaper.

What you're getting is $339.55 with tax.
Xbox 360 Slim is $339.00.
(I'm unsure as to where you are from, so I just used Canadian dollars.)

So, there's my recommendation. Hope this helps, and once you're online, add me as a friend if you want. :P

Arcade is the worst one out there, for gods sake, don't buy it. It has the worst dependency rating of all the X-Box 360's. And has limits.

Buy a PS3 or Wii, only one version, so nobody is at a disadvantage. PS3 comes with 120 GB HD, 8 processors (360 has 6), larger games (Up to 50GB of data on one BlueRay disc), BlueRay/DVD Player, Not as glitchy.

I don't know much about the Wii, more fun and interactive as the other 2 I guess.

Just don't get the Xbox 360!

I agree with Krizaz. Get a PS3. It's better.

X-box is kinda way better, and wii? really?

I'd go with the new x-box, it just way better.

I should mention the prices of the PS3 with Sony 32-inch HDTV (For getting rid of picture cut-off).

PS3: 300$ (1 Controller w/cable)
HDTV: 500$

May be out of your price range.

I think it's worth mentioning the Xbox 360 Slim has 250 GB of hard-drive compared to the PS3's 120. Not to mention that you can plug in up to five additional USB drives, and format up to 16 GB of each for memory use.

And Krizaz, where did you find a $500 32-inch HDTV?

It's not important to get a much bigger harddrive, it depends on how much games you're going to get, and how much downloadable content you wish to download for the xbox 360. I have a 60g, and i stil have 35+g left.

It's more than just 'slim' durp. it's quieter, not suposed to get red rings of death, comes with a 250g harddrive with no extra charge, and the open tray and power button are touch sensitive.

The arcade is the version me and my bros bought and a 60gb hard-drive and we have only sent it in once and it works like a charm. =) We had it two years before it broke then its fixed and works like its brand new. The pro and elite just have bigger hard-drives and more cables.

I suggest getting the slim though its quieter and faster and 250gb hard drive, and supa fast wifi connectibility,
i might be getting one in October. =)

Deffenetly go with the slim. another huge advantage is the built in wi-fi, so you can put it anywhere in your house.

I heard buying a refurbished Xbox is like buying a new one.
