And IW has gone too far, if they wanna continue their Modern Warfare series.. They're gonna HAVE to go futuristic, because even MW2 is futuristic (story wise)
but if IW stops the Modern Warfare series and makes a new game/series then it might be ok

They aren't going to go futuristic the way most people think they will, that'll ruin the whole idea of the Call of Duty games. They way they set up the ending of MW2, it allows for a whole new branch of the story without jumping ahead 5 years. They could pick up right where they left off.
And besides, a lot of people miss that a lot of the people that work at IW lost their jobs, I doubt they'll be at the head of a another game for a while
IW has already joined Electronic Arts as the newly formed Respawn Studios.
I assume you mean Respawn Entertainment? And that's made up of a few former IW employees and people from EA. I said Infinity Ward won't be at the head of a new game, and they won't. No research needed to figure that out
Also, what the hell do you mean by the whole idea of the call of duty games? The idea was WWII, MW actually deviated from the formula.
Every single CoD game has a base of realism to it, events that have happened in the past or that could happen right now. If a futuristic one were to be made--like Halo--it would lose the concept of telling a soldier's story in a realistic war setting
I'm not sure but I think I heard somewhere about black ops being tome travel? (black ops is upcoming game.) I honestly think they should stick with Modern warfare and WWII.

I did hear something about that, but I think they mean scenes from earlier events that will help further the story. Like in CoD 4 you 'went back in time' as price for All Ghillied Up and One Shot, One Kill; or in BF: Bad Company 2 there was a mission from WWII that directly tied to the modern story.

offtopic:LOLOLOLOL you think that CoD is realistic?HAHHAAA!!It isnt so realistic:be about 5 sec without getting hitted heals your hole health to full. You think that is realistic?
Call of Duty does at least need to keep the gun, but a civil war version would probably favor snipers over gunners. The antiquated guns make aim much more important. Perhaps an artillery version?
