the ultimate question for each individual human being. Why am i here? Why am i me? What is my purpose? there have been some answers to this chaotic question... but i do like some people who make a joke of it. such as Douglas Adams who wrote The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. and in that book it shows that the main reason for Earth and humans is that it is a giant calculator trying to solve the Question of existence. so what is your opinion on the matter
The biggest questions I have are, what came before the "Big Bang"? What happens after death, do you just stop too exist or do you go to some higher power? Or those are the two biggest questions.

Because God said, "ah, why not?" I believe the human race was created in His image. I also believe we evolved and have changed and have grown a lot in the last ten thousand years. I think our free will allows us the freedom to evolve on our own at our own pace where we can ask God for guidance and help. Without free will, we would be so much more advanced than we can possibly imagine. Additionally, the choice to believe in God creates opportunities for people to learn from each other and their experiences--and it makes humanity more interesting.

Your purpose is whatever you want it to be. Ultimately, if you believe in God, the purpose is to be good and wholesome and moral. If you do not believe, then your purpose is to live freely, with or without consequence for eternal glory or damnation, and by no particular set of rules necessarily. There are atheists that are better people than some Christians I've met--mainly because I think they're far more honest.
But your purpose is what you make of it given the 'cage' you're stuck in. Not everyone can do what they put their minds to--there are certain circumstances and setbacks that we have, so we chose our destiny based on our limitations. I will never be able to be a sadhu or a Time Lord, but my purpose has nothing to do with being whatever I feel like. I think every individual is meant for one or more specific things and I do not agree with 'you can be whatever you want to be'--mainly because it's a lie.
At the moment, however, my purpose is to eat breakfast, drink tea, and go watch my favourite British actor on the tele so I can drool over him.
Well, I'm a Christian. But I'll be blunt and make it scientifical.(Blasphemy, I say!)(Shut up!) Anyway, get born, live through puberty, reproduce as much as possible, and die.
Personally I try and make every day the best day. Mostly I just want to be able to look back at my life and say "yup I'm satisfied with that". Do all you can while you can. If there is indeed no god and nothing after this life. You better enjoy it as long as you can and as much as you can. Because this may just be it for you, period! Assuming that it will be all okay after this life, is just going to give people the idea that it doesn't matter what you do in life as long as you are forgiven at those pearly gates. I say don't you worry about those pearly gates or whats going to happen after you breath for the last time. There is absolutely no way of knowing. All you can do is, weather you feel its a gift or not, is make the best of it while it's here. And if there is a god and he where to see that you took full advantage of his gift, well then that is between you and him.
These threads can turn into religious... er... debates. Though everyone I know believes in God, I don't really believe. I sort of do, but I don't at the same time. Kind of hard to explain.

From the scientific sense, this is basically it. The purpose of an animal is to survive, reproduce and evolve.
However, because we are human, there might be a different purpose for our existence. Perhaps we are a 'stepping stone' in evolution or creation. We may seem complete, but evolution/God isn't done with us and we might have a long way to go.
Well according to the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, the ultimate answer is 42, as you said.
Then the question comes to... What is the ultimate question? (the reason the earth was made by Deep Thought. It is one mega computer and we are all part of the computer program, to figure out the question, which has the answer 42.) This is all part of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
At one point in time Arthur, the main character, decided that since he was the last human alive, (who lived up until the moment that the earth was destroyed for a bypass for a super space highway), that he could reach into a bag of letters, and lay them out, hoping it would create a question.
The question ended up being:
"What do you get when you multiply 6 by 9"? And from earlier on, we knew that the ultimate answer was 42. So the ultimate answer 42, is the answer to the ultimate question which is "What do you get when you multiply 6 by 9"?.
And that is the meaning of life (or at least the ultimate answer to the ultimate question, in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy).
