the ultimate question for each individual human being. Why am i here? Why am i me? What is my purpose? there have been some answers to this chaotic question...
but i do like some people who make a joke of it. such as Douglas Adams who wrote The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. and in that book it shows that the main reason for Earth and humans is that it is a giant calculator trying to solve the Question of existence.
so what is your opinion on the matter

That is very true.

However, picture books are made for kids, to teach them how good pictures can be. They must first learn this, then they can go on to greater things, like figuring out there are many more pictures on the internet to look at.

I've never heard of such a child who thought that pictures were "bad". Surely, there are always a few pictures that the kids don't like for some reason, but that has more to do with the content of the pictures rather than the mere fact that they are pictures.

No the problem is, less and less people are reading books. Probably a huge cause to our shortness on attention. That and our diets. But that is a whole other topic for discussion.

Obviously you've never read "Anthem" by Ayn Rand.

Not saying you should.

Anyways, books can stimulate your mind, just like Sports can stimulate your strength and Games can stimulate your reflexes.

Our reason of life is just like any other animals. Simply to mate, reproduce, and carry on the legacy of our existence. However, with intelligence comes higher opportunities than that. I feel as though with each passing day, humans have more purposes than just that one given to us by Mother Nature. The ultimate purposes in our life are:

1. Preserve and protect life

2. Preserve and protect Earth

3. Explore and inhabit other celestial bodies

We haven't done 3 yet and we are doing a crappy job at 1 and 2. So you can see how much closer to animals than we ourselves truly think.

I'd assume that life doesn't particularly have a purpose - we're merely the victims of chance and circumstance. If I had to give it a purpose? Advancement of the human race. Since i'm not a breeder I'd go about that by doing charity work and scientific research.

Totally my opinion. And that's great, because we can set ourselves the purpose we want our own life to have.

my biggest question is when you die. Ok maybe thats game over, no thought beond that. Its hard to grasp not existing at all though, but perhaps being dead is just like not being born at all.
Really only way to find out is to die, any volunteers?

I know people who have "died" and been zapped back to life and say they saw something or "the light", really thats probably just shock though considering they just DIED.

Death is one reason for life as it's unavoidable, as morbid and depressing as it sounds, you cannot deny it being a reason to our life.

You are born, you pay taxes, you die.

Enjoy.

Considering the massive amounts of adrenaline and hallucinogenic hormones produced when you face near death experiences, and probably death itself, this is not surprising. However, you aren't going to 'see a light' if you have a bullet shred your brain. Instantaneous death would just be black. One second you're there, the next you aren't.

Well GhostGS ask, "Why am I me?".

Why am I me?

Because fate is cruel and made me, me! I hate me, in fact I despise me. If I could choose between me or other guy, I would choose other guy. Being me is hard. I have a crazy brother who don't wanna learn anything and play games all the time(or should I say a literally stupid person who kicks the console or the games when someone turn off the PS2 suddenly), a sister who is overly spoiled, a bigger brother who is really cold and heartless and parents who think I am not depressed and like to go to school on a hot day.

My life SUCKS.

I hope yours too.

when i mean "why am i me?" i mean "why?" cause you are the only human on the planet that cannot see their face without lookin in a mirror, you are the only human to move your own body, you are the only person to talk to yourself without talking. i ask simply because with all these controls at your command, why am i at the helm. also because you experience everything in your world... like i have always thought once i go home does everyone disappear. when that person isn't around they don't exist... like the whole world was built for you... this whole paragraph may seem jumbled but it is hard to explain all the emotions and thoughts i have for this topic and transfer it into manageable and understandable words
