Now Nintendo has there DS and Sony the PSP, but do you think microsoft will ever convert to a handheld gaming console (besides computers)? I was rummaging google and happened upon an article from 2006 that talked for a project but it looks as if it has stopped.
I just think ti would be nice to play like halo or what not on the go and use your gamertag to play online as well...
In case you were confused by any of that, i think there should be a handheld xbox device.
the people who are addicted enough to the Xbox to have to carry it around with them are the same kind of people who never leave their house
That answers the question really.. Hand-held Xbox = unnecessary.
Where would you play games other than at home?
And if you are at home you can switch on your Xbox and play that if you really need to, not sit on some 3 inch screen looking at crappy graphics and bad controls/gameplay, and shortened versions of console games.
why out of the big three, that mircosoft is the only without a handheld device?
Microsoft realizes that the more people who have this product will not buy a regular 360, meaning that the 360 will have a much lower demand and it will become obsolete and therefore be very invaluable.
And I heard a couple of years ago they were making a 180 but I don't know what happened to that.
But I say no to the idea, one thing i really like about Xbox is the controller, and a handheld would limit the buttons way down making it less compatible with a couple of games.
handheld xbox...what a joke they are already making millions upon millions with the xbox and having a handheld system would mean the have more things to worry about so personally i think no there should not be a handheld xbox.

No. Microsoft are smart enough to recognise the flaws with entering the handheld market at this stage. Sony and Nintendo entered with handheld gaming market with their two flagship handhelds at around the same time and the DS absolutely dominated the industry and Sony's later instalment of the PSP went largely unrecognised just because Nintendo had so much control over the handheld side of the gaming industry. Entering now would be even more ridiculous than Sony's attempts to compete.
Furthermore, the majority of Xbox 360 owners probably already own a DS and are content with the technologies its brought to the table or they don't care whatsoever for handhelds and prefer to stick to the 360.
What could an Xbox portable do that the DS (and 3DS) has done and will do? Integrate Kinect with it? It would be practically impossible to do anything feasible that Nintendo haven't already succeeded with.
Finally, Microsoft don't make computers, they make the Windows operating system, Xboxs and some bad gaming peripherals like mice and possibly keyboards.
