Well I went to school today, to pick up my schedule, I was going to write this down when I was at home and had my schedule with me but I guess things don't always go like that. Anyways I have mostly advanced classes. I will list what I remember. English honors. Advanced biology. Algebra honors. American History. Reading. (Explain later) And NJROTC. Hey look at that I rememberd all of them, but not in the right order. =(
I am going to wait til school starts to get my schedule, I am not gonna go to school earlier than I have to. I think I am going to get easy classes this year. The only ones that I'm probably going to have to do work in is spanish 2 and english.
But my schedule doesn't even have my locker number or combination, so I'm going to have to find that out when I get there. Spanish is easy, if you know hos to spell, and can memorize certain things easily, and if you can speak a little bit of spanish. No nand for me ever again!! And ROTC is just to try something new. And apparently I don't know how to read. I'm in remedial reading!!! Efff!!! I feel like a retard. With all my advanced classes and my remedial class. Darnit. I got all A's in my last report card so I don't know what went wrong.
I cant get a locker until I pay off my student bill again. Spanish is pretty easy. I think you got remedial english because there's probably somewhere saying your a spanish speaker on your registration form or something like that. I wouldn't know for sure though, it's just that this happens to a lot of people at my school.
I should be gettin a foreign langauage thing year (spanish) n I took it before so it should be easy but I don't think it will be so its time to start studying with Dora
And apparently I don't know how to read. I'm in remedial reading!!! Efff!!! I feel like a retard. With all my advanced classes and my remedial class. Darnit. I got all A's in my last report card so I don't know what went wrong.
It really could be that you didn't do so well in your state-wide assessment tests? If you have those? I'm in Indiana so I used to do ISTEP+ in middle/high school. But reading isn't really all text and vocabulary. You need to be able to understand what you are reading in different angles. Besides knowing the vocab, you need to know where and when these vocab words are being invoked in the book you are reading. Just some couple of things that may have had an effect on your class...
Freshman in College:
English 111
Human Anatomy II
Life Skills
Mathematics 117
Chemistry 105:
So to recap, ENG 111 is the English course at the college level. You could only take Human Anatomy 2 if you took the first course in high school and passed the college challenge. Life skills is something first year college students take at this school. Math 117 is college-level Geometry. Freakin' Geometry.... Chemistry 105 is the highest freshman-level chemistry course you can take. You could only take it if you had Chem II in high school and passed the chemistry placement test.
So..how they work where you take classes...You take a placement test. From a computer. And the computer gets to decide where you go based on your scores. Goody. Writing I got a 99/100, and Reading I got a 90/100. Basic human knowledge, no offense to Savings
So apparently, the robot gave me a 55/100 on math, which put me in college-level geometry If I got a 60-70, I could have taken pre-calculus. Curses.
Well I'm sure I got high scores, it is basic knowledge I totally agree but I can read!! Well I'm going to see what its all about and then get my parents to change it if I don't like it. Always good to try something new? Well we talked to the lady in the office, and she said that remedial doesn't mean slow. Sooooo.
Here are the classes I'm trying to get into. I won't know until the 15th if I'm going to be enrolled in them, though.
College freshman: Japanese 125 (begining japanese) Math 161 (honors calculus)
I don't remember the number codes for these two: Intro to Logic Intro to Government (U.S. gov)
If I get all those classes, then I'll be done with classes everyday by 1:00. I really, really want to get into honors Calc. Cause if I don't, then I'll have to take basic calc. Which I pretty much already did in highschool. So that would be boring. Oh, and people had good things to say about the honors calc prof, too. My school doesn't have an online placement test, they just base it off of AP and SAT scores.
But everyone* gets a five on the AP calc test, and the math SAT is super easy, which means that a lot of people are signed up for honors calc. And priority is given based on seniority... and I'm a freshman...
AP classes really payed off for me- I got over 30 credit hours. Which is about a year's worth of credits. So I don't have to take english or science or whatever unless I want too.
@ Frank:
Five classes? Are you planning on dropping one, or what? Four of those sound kind of time consuming, too.
Yeah that's probably true, but isn't that lik paradox or something? All advanced class and then a rememdial one?
I honestly just find it funny only you dude only you
the math SAT is super easy
i took A practice ACT last year math was too easy but everyone says the SAT is hatder because the way its scored and stuff i was thinking the and stuff was the questions
