This topic is based upon your personal opinion on whether abortion is wrong or right. I personally believe that it is wrong, and have many reasons for it. You may challenge me if you wish, but please make sense!

Not everyone believes life begins at conception.

Abortion is wrong... I'm a guy, so I'm not going to have to worry about this so much (at least not having the baby in me...just thinking about it now made me shiver a little bit...it's like a little person...living inside of you) Anyway, my faith tells me that abortion is not only wrong, but a crime against humanity. If the fetus wouldn't grow to be a person, then that would be one thing. I think that the only circumstances that should even be considered are if the mother has been raped, and/or if the baby threatens to take her life.

I say if you are having an abortion and your under 21 yeah go ahead.
Although if your older it may seem a bit wrong. what if that child could have been president

If things were like that, teenagers would get pregnant all the time, and abort so they wouldn't have to carry around the baby...

As a potential father you have to worry about such things as much as the mother...

How about contraceptives in the first place? Teenies don't want to get pregnant, show them a way to avoid it and you won't have to worry about abortion (in most cases).
And anyway, you seriously want to force a pregnant teenie to give birth to the child? How cruel.

It has a heat beat as early as 10 weeks, which is coincidently when I consider it to be alive.

ah. what does happen at birth is the "shock of life" as some doctors put it. It 'awakens" the baby. A baby does not have its OWN heartbeat until it is born. Until then, it is still it's own mother's heart beat

i think that women can decide what they want to do to a certain point idk the specific weeks or anything but once it looks like a baby and has a heartbeat and stuff i think it would be pretty wrong to abort it,so they should get it done super soon i think is the ideal solution

I have made my point earlier in this debate, but I'll make it again since it's been such a long time.

Conscious thought and perception of pain are impossible for a fetus prior to 26 weeks gestation. From a purely scientific viewpoint this seems like the most applicable cut off point for abortions, as after 26 weeks gestation it is likely that you are inflicting pain on the fetus.

I would also like to point out that ~1% of abortions are performed after this point, so we already recognize that any abortion should take place as early as possible.

abortion isn't a bad thing because what if you were a young teenage girl who was raped which led to pregnancy? and what if the child was born either deformed or retarded? what if that child lived in a world of misery because no one not even its parents wanted him or her? having abortion illegalised would cause more hurt than help. in response to crimsonrose's comment, you are extremely narrow minded. If i was aborted how would i miss life in he first place? also a percentage of your so important tax dollars go towards funding government orphanages. more than half of those unloved children were dumped there by parents too selfish to have an abortion. in response to texanprovo's comment: I'm glad someone actually used their brain.

Okay the thing about abortion is its the woman's choice to do it. Religion tries to say nobody should be killed. Well here is my clean response for that. The embryo cell we all grow from. Its just one cell, and when its only one cell nothing has been made yet or in the process of being made. So if a woman is 5 days pregnant then an abortion should be accepted by scientist and religious figures, BUT if the cell has one cell for the vital organs in the embryo cell that is considered to be a human being which shouldn't be killed. Since i don't know when exactly at least one cell for the vital organs are made in the embryo. i will just say this: if it is just a embryo and the woman feels like she should get an abortion if she is only 2 weeks pregnant then she should have the choice of getting an abortion.
