Personally I have no problem with same sex marriage. Here in Canada it is completely legal and I support the equality of all people whether they be man, women, straight or gay. It disheartens me to know that some people need to ban marriage between two people simply because they happen to be the same sex. Surely we cannot still be so primitive? What is it with man's need to debase his fellow man? It seems that people will always find some way to make themselves feel better at the expense of others. So, if I may, I request that someone provides me with a logical argument as to why homosexuals whould not be allowed to marry.
I honestly don't care. I personally have reservations against the acts involved, but what they do behind closed doors isn't any worry to me.
Although to make everyone happy, I would just call it something else. That seems to be everyone's issue: Marriage is between a man and a women. Half the idiots think that they will start issues on 'marriage' to other things. Being the majority, however, they do have a little more power.
So, if I had it my way, I'd call it something else. Domestic or civil union, or something along those lines. Offers all the privileges of marriage, without Catholic douches saying it's marriage. It's not 'marriage', it's domestic union. See?

A good solution just one minor problem. Homosexuals would then scream that they weren't equal because it isn't "marriage". I'm not saying all, but in both groups we have extremists.

They can call it marriage, just so long as it's not legally marriage, ignorant fools won't have any legitimate reason as to why they can't have the same rights.
Keep the same form, but replace 'Marriage' with 'Domestic Union.'
Whether or not anyone calls it marriage or not is pointless. It would be technically not marriage.

You could wait your whole life for such an argument, it will never come. The only reason this is even an issue is because some people are too ignorant(and choose to remain so) that they must force their twisted views onto everyone.
It doesn't matter what you call it, the bigots will espouse their ignorant and unreasonable hatred anyway.

Religion isn't a logical thought process to pseudo atheists and atheists, but most people are religious, and that doesn't really cut it for them. That's their logic, you have to find a way around it, or they will completely overwhelm you.
Of course there will always be bigots. Nothing can stop that. But, when bigots make up that vast majority, you either have to agree with them, or work your way around it. They could still complain, but at least we'd have proper ammo to shoot them down that won't just anger them more by calling down their religion.
