my 12 year old wants to play diablo 2, but being a diablo 2 veteran myself, i wont let him because of andariel being naked and the hell reference. i told him that if other people said she wasnt naked, he could play the game.

lol i just checked battle.net's pics. i myself believe shes not naked but she's close to it. im 13 and been playing it for a coupla years... i reckon let him play but when he gets close to the encounter with andariel, either say the she's too hard and take over till she dies or just dont let him get a screenshot

yeah i guess i could do that. other than andariel, i dont see any reason for the game to be M. the graphics are so bad that the blood isnt realistic at all.

but then again this game was made several years ago. so while nowadays it might be rated T but when it first came out it got the M rating. they dont go back and change them.

and to answer your question, the only thing she has on her is her metal underwear/chastity belt/whatever that is and her uhm... nipple clamps... >.>

I would say she is partially naked, but I don't think it would be really bad for him if you let him fight her. But it's your choice.

Are you serious? Just let the kid play the game. Seeing a little tit action in it, which he probably won't even notice because the graphics are terrible, won't scar your kid for life.

When I first tried this game I was around 7, but when I started actually playing this game I was around 8-9. My dad said he needed someone to play with... So I made my character, and when I fought Andariel I could notice the nipples instantly. Your 12 year old son will notice if an 8 year old girl noticed.

Well...she's not naked as the way the US describes it. No nipples(she's got those metal things or whatever) and no front bits...so technically no, but if that's too much skin for you, just tell him that Andariel is too hard and beat her for him, or just tell him that he's not old enough to see that yet and beat her for him. Either way, if he wants to play the game so badly, then I think he will be fine with missing out on one megaboss.
I'm 12, and I play D2 and D1 all the time. It never really bothered me. The graphics aren't good enough that it will really matter, at least not in my opinion.
And for the hell thing...if he's seen movies recently(Legion, I'm looking at you), he's been exposed to hell. If he's been to church, he's been told about hell. He's fighting Diablo(the Devil in Spanish). Now, if he had the option to fight for hell(like in Oblivion), then you might want to factor that in, but in Diablo you're the good guy.
So I think you should let him play, but you're his parent and it's your decision.

Exactly. Seeing a bit of flesh in an old RPG will not leave him mortified and he won't get a pron addiction either. It's like not letting your kids watch James Bond because it has sexual scenes. Just let your kid enjoy the awesomeness of Diablo 2 and stop worrying about tits.

Andariel is wearing nipple clamps and a thong, which is basically how the dancers in early times usually were wardrobed in: quote me if I'm wrong, but the middle-eastern type, which is the whole point of migrating to the east after act1. If she wasn't wearing either of these, ESRB would clearly say 'nudity' on the description.

but then again this game was made several years ago. so while nowadays it might be rated T but when it first came out it got the M rating. they dont go back and change them.

Mature ratings aren't affected by how old a game is, so long as it has the descriptive sessions in them. Custer's Revenge for the Atari2600 was rated AO because of nudity (Ikr?). As Seanbaby would have put it: "I have masturbated to sexier legos". Point being, it doesn't matter if it's old or new, so long as it has the content inside.

This is nudity... and kids can start looking at porn, you would be surprised how smart 12 year old kids could be with the deleting cookies and in private browsing. And Andariel is wearing nipple cuffs and a thong... shes more then half naked. Your son will probably tell all of his friends about this if he is really immature.

I never got to Andariel because Deckard Cain told me to stay a while and listen.

just kidding

If it helps when I was playing, there was so much crap going on that I couldn't even make out what Andariel looked like.
