I don't particularly think that there are any 'real' differences between the two. You might find that women have a greater aptitude at certain things and the same applies for men but in general these aren't solid rules.
I'm interested to see how this discussion takes off. I will say to start that there are many definite mental differences between men and women and these have been observed and documented by scientists and I have seen evidence of them through my work as a counselor. I'll let that be for now and I'll come back to this debate in a bit with some scientific papers published regarding the study of the differences.
Testosterone and estrogen. It would give us a different mind set. Think differently. But both men and woman can think the same thing. Men can even feel child birth is some rare cases. But on average there isn't much of a difference. Woman can be just as destructiver as Men. And Men just as caring as woman.
I am also looking forward to reading more people's answers.
Women often have more of a motherly, sensitive mind that does not get as violent as men's, and are not so bloodthirsty. (usually; some women are VERY violent and bloodthirsty. :O)
From my experience, a lot of men/boys don't understand why women/girls get so worried and all that, because they haven't experienced what that feels like.
Women, on the other hand, often don't understand why boys are sometimes so careless of dangerous actions, and why their thinking is, "Come on... that's not gonna happen to me," in cases of injury or succumbing to drugs, alcohol, etc., because women are so careful to not let those things happen.
Men have more violent minds(most)while women have more peaceful ones(most)
Bahahahahaha! That was a good one!

Definitely! In fact, men tend to get involved in violence mainly because they are more protective. However, women tend to be just as destructive as men, just in more indirect ways.

I only halfly agree with what you said. It's a bit deeper than that.
I'll explain the differences between men and women later. Right now I'm not too much in the mood.
There are diffrences. Women like to be "the power behind the throne", while men like to be on the throne. There are evolutionary diffrences. for example, girls are more sensetive to high tones of sound so that they can take care of the baby. Women like love (especcially in school) beause it is the main way to turn into the power behind the throne while men love to defeat and to dominate, as it is the main way (evolutionary speaking, today this is no longer in force) to take the throne. Both sexes love power, men get it from the muscels (bet that's spelled wrong) and women get it from seduction, but both sexes will change their paths and their lenth to have power.

I agree that it's a bit deeper, but I was explaining it roughly, you know? It would be nice for this conversation to get deeper than what the mental differences between men and women appear to be. There are deeper differences; I agree.
But alas! I am tired, and will not be on long enough to write more before I will have to continue on to my bedsheets.
One major difference is that women's brains are, on average, far more active than men's. However, this doesn't necessarily mean they're smarter, it just means they think a lot. Though I'm sure women are smarter than men, on average. =).

If you mean that over time the different characteristics between men and women will switch and change, I disagree. I believe that mental differences (as well as physical differences, but that's not the point of this discussion) come from what mothers are supposed to do for their children and what fathers are supposed to do for their children. Men and women think different because they are forming what may in the future be their motherly and fatherly qualities.
Mothers generally take care of, watch over, protect, and sensitively take care of the child, while fathers generally work for the family's well-being and money for food, shelter, etc., and when they have time they actively play with the child and whatnot.
