I recently gave this some consideration in light of the Flagger Club post in the Tavern and I think that our current system of notifying moderators of spam and/or rule violations needs a bit of modification.

I would suggest that a sticky thread be placed, preferably somewhere without AP for posts, for members to link to rule violations, spam, trolling, et cetera for moderators to be available to review when they are active and have the time to address said issues.

Currently we simply link to such things in the profiles of moderators, however we never really know which moderators are online, who has been notified of said issue, or even who else has already informed the moderating team of the event in question.

Understanding that moderators are not always online, and even when they are they don't always have the time to address such issues I feel that such a thread would be of great benefit to the community, not only by providing a single listing of violations for moderators to monitor, but for other members to see specific examples of what rule violations, spam, and trolling really are.

To answer this thread, I will simply say, "the mods will get to it when they get to it". What would the difference be if they go to their profile to find links or when they look at a thread to find links? If the problem is THAT bad, they will notice it firsthand without having to be spoonfed by users. It would make things much better if we have a higher user count that would report these things much faster. So a better suggestion would be to have a sticky teaching users what to do when to flag/report.

Yes our reports can get stuck somewhere outside the front page of their profile, but I am sure they will see it soon.

What I propose is a dedicated thread here in the forum for us to post links to such things. Firstly, this eliminates posting on the profile of a mod who won't be back online for days. Secondly, it allows ALL mods and the admins to have a single, organized place to find all issues. Lastly, it keeps earlier complaints from being pushed off of a profile by recent posts as well as allowing us all to see what has already been linked to in order to avoid multiple postings of the same complaint.

We, the users made something like this they called SHOPS a while back. you psted it there, and the mods found all the complaints in one profile.

However, the people that got the password to the SHOPs account, ruined it when they thought they could delete wahtever complaints they thought where unneeded, and that they could tell users off them selfs. I would like to see a profile or soething for posting complaints so all the mdos could check there, but that only they have the password.

Or an even-handed, objective, active user who will leave the profile alone.........

That's the only "downside" to reporting to a mod: you have no clue how long the problem will be taken care of. I'm not sure either if reporting the same problem to multiple mods is legit**.
