As a guy who should be going to college this September and isn't I'd say it is. I need to waste a year to work to make over ten grand just for ONE year.

If you wanna go to college,you better be set in doing exactly what you're studying, or else you're wasting your time and money.

There adressing the problem at the moment in Australia, there trying to make the Uni's run the Uni like a school not a profitalbe buisness.
Things are alot more easyier in Australia, you can borrow your UNI fee from the Government and pay them back over time, its rally easy over in france all education is free.

It's really expensive, in Holland were I live, you get a small amount of money of the goverment to study, but that is very little, and you still have to work very hard to pay your debts.

Yes, it is. I know a couple people who have had to deny themselves a further education because they can't pay for it.

Sure, you could go and serve numerous years in the military, but I think I would rather serve for my country not for my schooling.

Definitely. What angers me the most is the "In-state vs. Out-Of-State" tuition. I visited the University of Michigan about a month ago and they gave me a lot of information, and the In-state tuition was like $15,000 and the Out-Of-State tuition was $40,000. It's kind of unfair in my opinion.

My english teacher last year, who is British, went to Oxford University in England and she said that it's inexpensive, and that's one of the best colleges in the world. So it's kinda dumb that in America you need to pay for education.

It's also ridiculous that most people who want to go on to post secondary education have to borrow loan after loan after loan and eventually become wrapped in debt for the next 20 years. Education is something everyone should have the right to, not something the government can suck us dry for.

Oh yeah its expensive. Going into one next year the costs are ridiculous. So Im putting my energy toward as many scholarships as possible.

--Compete for the many scholarships they offer

--Some states give you free 4 years of college tuition. Indiana's, for instance, gives you a 21st Century Scholarship program that, as long as you maintain a 2.0 throughout your secondary school career, you will get free 4 years of college.

--Go into the military. They pay for your college.

Our family just payed for my older sisters college, and it sucks because of that, I couldn't get what I wanted, but they had the right to do that because I couldn't save for what I wanted.

So, all you have to do is go to Harvard. Problem solved.

For the class of 2010 at UW Wisconsin - Madison, it cost $84,000 for 4 years.

For the class of 2018, it will cost about $120,000. It's crazy.

I'm thinking of going for 3 years at a smaller school ($60,000 - $80,000)

Weeeeeeell.... I fell in the college budget (or how ever you say it in England/America) ( i was going to college for free) but , i would never finish college if i were not a hard working student . Yeah ... its REALLY expensive.
