Also, choose one weapon specialty when signing up... Ion, plasma, ballistics (guns...), missiles, electric, arc, explosives, incendiary, laserss, EMP. Also on the list: technology, medicine.
Some weapons have specialized delivery systems, while ballistics/missiles refers to a delivery system, which can be modded to use the other weapon types (eg. missile warheads).
Ask questions if you want to, and technology/medicine are niche skills but needed; if you pick those, you start out with a basic weapon (you won't be too far behind, don't worry)

Uhh.... Shields are shield generators, it's like a bubble encapsulating yourself...though if you want another shield in the offhand position, okay then... Tech's a supporting skill, so it has different uses based on the situation. Unfortunately...this first fight I don't think it's much use :X

i jump behind cover and i try and fix my shield (actually can it be off hand it looks cooler like that XD
