Actually...I hate to burst everybody's bubble, but she was caught. The largest punishment that can be given to her is a 6,400 dollar fine, which is actually quite a lot. However I get the feeling most of you PETA people here will be disappointed. Yet...screaming for her blood is a bit extreme, don't you think? I know the crime is horrific, but even so puppies lives =/= a human's. It's sick and all, but definitely not worth the death penalty. I mean, come on.

Well, actually throwing puppies into the river used to be the old method of population control, which, if you think about what animal-rights organisations have to say about the prevalence of strays and consequences of that, makes some sense. No idea how that relates to the motives of the girl who was throwing the puppies into the river though, so this comment is probably tangential.
This said, humans are animals too (semantics, I know), but given we're thinking about our own developing population crises, one has to wonder...
