What do you think is better?I would say wisdom is better than all the intelligence in the world but I want to know what you think.

What's wisdom without intelligence? And what's intelligence without wisdom?
I'll be an ass and say neither is better, a combination is what you want

True a combination is good but while you can't have wisdom without at least a little intelligence you can have intelligence without wisdom.

Intelligence without wisdom will get you a nuclear war. Wisdom without intelligence will starve you.

And Holt, your really, really have to stop making so many threads, and should probably start making larger OPs...

Nice input and at your request I will limit myself to one a day unless it's REALLY important okay.

If it wasn't for wisdom, we intelligent people would have blown each other up a long time ago... But the wise people would have starved without intelligent people...

Grrr.... They have the same importance.

everyone needs intelligence to gain wisdom. You can't really differentiate the two as they are both connected in multiple ways.

Lol... honesty is the best policy... kudos to you Holt

I lean towards wisdom because I know some very intelligent people but their wisdom is somewhat lacking.

Although I think they go hand in hand.

Ohh yeahh lots of people are either wise and dumb or smart but unwise there are very few people with a combination of both.

agreed, although I believe both can be taught in most cases, usually starting by controlling pre-conceptions of a person/situation/lifestyle

Wisdom implies what you know.

Intelligence can imply how much you can know, how fast you know it, and how much you know that can be retained.

It's not how much you know that's important - its how much you can figure out that really matters. In this sense, intelligence is more useful than wisdom.

How are we defining the two? If wisdom is just a deep understanding this would in essence make it a form of intelligence, thus making them essentially one in the same.
