This is a post about the three games of the year. Which one do you choose? Which one will you love to play? and why do you like or not like the game?...
I personally am a fan of cap-com and trey-arc, honestly halo reach... isn't what your going expect it to be. it's not a part of the main story line, and Bungie is going out of businesses so its their last game. Employers and game designers are teaming up with Activation and making a group called 343. Halo 4 will be out soon and it will or might end the story. Dead Rising will be extremely fun, to have the ability to run around vegas in 2 modes is great. You have the story-line and unlimited mode. you can combine and use weapons of your choice and even use a dirt-bike and heres a secret. a special racing car. the best part is the ability to play online! Black-ops, has better weapons better abilities. better game modes and best of all, the ability to use currency to buy your unlocks. infinity-ward is better but due to World at War. i loved it but people don't like the fact your in the past. thats my opinion tell me yours!

i dont see fallout new vegas on this list, and i think that will be GOTY. fallout 3 was the best rpg i've ever played, and possibly the best game ive ever played. fallout new vegas is a big contender for GOTY, and if you deny that your a fool
Fallout New Vegas isn't just what you think. It's just the Futuristic version of Oblivion, the elder scrolls IV. and is not coming out this month.

Fallout 3 made some major changes that really put it above Oblivion. The RPG system was completely revamped so that state points were not forcibly distributed according to your previous playstyle, it allowed you to allocate points to individual skills regardless of how you were playing.

There was also a lot more convenience and they had removed a lot of the nuisances witnessed in Oblivion. One small example would be how the repair system worked: in Oblivion repair hammers were necessary whereas in Fallout 3 you could combine multiple weapons to increase their overall damage output and condition.

Finally, I'd say Fallout 3 had a much more believable, and accurate setting. When Bethesda got their hands on the Gamebryo engine, they made a graphically futuristic game and with their new technology decided to create a realistic gameworld as opposed to a fantasy world. Shivering Isles introduced a beautiful fantasy setting, with amphibious warriors, eerie skies filled with a plethora of nebulae, mushroom forests looming over you and much more. But Oblivion itself? It looked mundane for a fantasy game.

Fallout 3 looked like a post-apocalyptic world. People acted like they were dealing with the toughness with a world that harboured no security. Where communities were tight and compact and swarmed in crude ghettoes and annihilated cities. The mutants were a disturbing fusion that gave insight into just how disastrous the nuclear blast was, and it's effects that left the world torn.

Fallout 3 was simply a better game, not just Oblivion with guns.

Fallout New Vegas will definitely improved on that. The underlying formula seemingly remains utterly unchanged, opening gateways to experience gameplay you're familiar with. Despite being reminiscent of Fallout 3, Obsidian are a genius games developer who truly shook the entire genre on numerous occasions. Their additions to Fallout 3's beautifully crafted elements will expand on the existing gameplay, not simply clone it or Oblivion.

Fallout New Vegas, it still uses the same game engine as Fallout 3 and Oblivion

Graphics are not the single thing you should judge a game by. Sure they help, and I pointed out how the atmospheric affect graphics conjured in Fallout 3 played a part in why I prefer it but gameplay has incredible potency over whether people think the game is good or not and Fallout 3s completely revolutionised first person RPGs.

It may run on the same graphics engine, but the gameplay differences are noticeable and Fallout New Vegas will not be Oblivion with guns.

futuristic version of oblivion! are you serious! thank you Elitemagical for explaining the points, at least someone understands how amazing fallout is.

but just to add a little bit more, at no point in fallout did i see the remains of an oblivion gate. fallout is a realistic rpg, were as oblivion is fantasy rpg.

and plus i never said it came out this month

Treyarch, despite being a developer more aware of their community's wants and needs than Infinity Ward still have to gain money, and if there's a winning formula -- one that grosses loads of cash -- they're going to use it. Modern Warfare 2 gathered over a billion dollars, that's not an opportunity that Treyarch want to miss out on.

Not the point.
Granted, any developer would want to snatch a chance at creating a CoD game. Who wouldn't?
All I'm saying is that is isn't good, the publicity and rather childish fanbase is what keeps it so alive.
If I were a lead developer, I would prefer have a couple guns, class bonuses (Spec Ops gets a hipfire bonus, LMG gets less recoil?), anything I can think of to further distinguish players and to stop putting in the most Overpowered gun (as well as actually scaling the weapons right and showing it to the player, if you look at the dmg on one gun then look at it on another, they could be the opposite of what they actually do.)

As long as there are dedicated servers, the lack of powerful anti-cheat engines is redundant. Administrators and moderators will often leave their contact details, especially on popular servers where hackers,

Only server I can immediately think of (out of the many I played) is the EAS Obscurity server. And that's a modded one, with very few servers. I can see why admins and members would go there.

Right now, I'm really happy that the games I'm playing don't have PunkBuster installed. It's currently not letting me play All Points Bulletin, America's Army or Modern Warfare. I also know that many other people have issues with it and have to resort to servers without the technology enabled.

I've no idea what that problem is, Elitemagical. I have PB and it runs perfect on any game I go onto, BFBC2, CoD4, and... Well. That's it... O.o

But they do have to add something, otherwise people will simply say it's a Modern Warfare 2 clone.

Crossbow
Ballistic Knife
> Tomahawk
> Couple game Modes
> Vehicles
> Nazi Zombies
< Create a Class 2.0
< New Maps
< Video recording
> Dedicated servers

The ones with the > in front are ones already done with previous CoD games. The 3 with the < in front are already done on previous First Person Shooters.

Albeit video recording is mostly Xbox only (Halo).
Albeit New Maps are only in all FPS's I know (Unlimited).
Albeit Advanced Customization is only in one FPS I know of (Can't remember name).

Honestly? Doesn't matter they're new into the franchise, they've already been introduced in previous games.
To put it simply - CoD8 introduces some destructible ground:
"OMG!!! Destructible ground! They've never done this before!"
And? BFBC1 did, Operation Flashpoint 10 years ago did.
CoD9 introduces class bonuses (or just makes picking a class much more significant):
"Wtf? No I wanna play with equipment like in COD6!"
Again BFBC2 did this. They all had their bonuses, and they all had their perks (how you fire, for example), good or bad.
CoD10 introduces real time perk changing (think Crysis):
I really don't want to do an impression as some people may rage.
Then again alot of people will >.>
Crysis did it.

All ideas have been done, CoD barely changes it, a camera, a car, and appearance.

Those are the only new thi--
I forgot.
James Bond Nightfire for PS2 had a remote controled tank / helicopter, just a small one, kinda like the one in CoD7.
It could also be used as a camera.

Thanks for bringing this up/ there will be alot more wepons but with that they will abuse it by over using the guided rockets/ crossbow/ balistic knife/ tomohawk/ ect. though there are alot im honestly fed up with games like call of duty though i might get it.

Try out Battlefield. It's way more ahead than CoD in nearly every aspect.
They don't have as much mechanics, but that's also a good thing as half of MW2's mechanics were only in Singleplayer and Spec Ops - yeah, that helps >.>
