Popular topics right now are the Mosque at Ground Zero, and the uprising of Bedbugs. I would like to see opinions about the mosque, and a few reasons why Bedbugs have risen, again. My opinion about the Mosque is that it should be built. If so, it will increase the world relations because it would show the infinite tolerance of the United States of America. I believe that since we have the freedom of religeon, why can't a place of religous worship be built anywhere? Also, Ground Zero don't exactly refer to Muslims. It refers to the Terroists who killed over 1000 people because of a perversion of religeon. The Muslims are not to blame. The terroists are. About the Bedbugs, I feel it is the rise of poverty in the United States of America. 44 Million people are in poverty. I myself live in a town where over half of the 7,000 people living here are in poverty. But, as the econemy recovers, the Bedbug problem will eventually dissapear. Remember, this is my opinion, and I would be glad to hear more. Remember, no insults, and keep the debate friendly and clean!
Exactly. Not to mention that the building is not only a mosque, but a community center. The mosque only makes up a small part of the building.
Actually it's common for a mosque to include elements that benefit the community they are in. So I don't really buy the "it's not exactly a mosque" argument (not that it matters one way or the other).
On that matter Asherlee, the people (American people) associate things with others, whether right or wrong. When they see cross, they see Christianity, but not less-common terms like the Fish. When they think of the Mosque, they think of Muslims, and in turn, the terrorists that attacked the WTCs, Pentagon, and White House. The only thing the Muslims are involved with is being wrongly associated with those that did the attacks. If we (they) just get more direct and specific with those that we deal with, we wouldn't be having this problem and those that are building the Mosque-y Community Center can live peacefully.
I don't have citations for this, but further testimony from the founder of this building spoke to reporters as such, "If I knew that there would be controversy over the location of the Community Center, I wouldn't have had plans to build it [near Ground Zero]. However, if I quit now, that would send a message to our enemies that we were being repressed, therefore an attack on our religion, which would prompt further attacks on the U.S."
Of course, FOX proclaimed it (the testimony) as a threat to American soil.
I see what you're saying, and I agree. Because a person is smart, people are stupid. And people associate in that way.
Also, I saw that interview with the quote you posted. The guy seemed genuine enough. So much that he called it off right after that interview. It is pretty sad to me, really.

While this is true, it is uncommon for a mosque to be contained inside a building open to the public. Typically the entire structure is considered a mosque, with the dominate areas being devoted to worship, with only subsections of the building for community usage. Park51 is the opposite, with the majority of the structure for the benefit and use of local citizens of any faith, with only a smaller portion reserved for worship. This IS important because it further illustrates that the people responsible for Park51 are a far cry from the typical muslim groups.
Bedbugs are rising cuz they are using less effective stuff to kill em all. The stuff they used around WW2 worked perfectly but the idiots decided to change it
