alright so i wasn't really sure where to post this haha. but ive noticed that i have only 150 armor points and im ranked at 21K out of over 600k players, which lead me to believe that armor games has Alot of players who just made accounts and forgot about them. so from this i was wondering if armor games ever cleans up the accounts that have been inactive for a while, or just lets them stay.

They don't clear accounts lest people come back for them.

How many inactive people you say?

Well the reason they don't clear users.

How do yo utell if someone is inactive? What if someone made an account just to read feedback on games, and has no intrest in there account for anything else. this happens alot actually.

Then comes the fact that what if I waas inactive for like.....5 months, and coem back, to find no account. I would be sad. And all the people who have spammed ghost acounts/made ghost account, would loss alot of Ap, and people would cry. Thats how it would happen.

Maybe this calls for change.

--Make it clear that once you make your account, AG3 will give you X amount of inactivity before clearing your profile.

--If you happen to come back on the site and wish to regain your account, you can go through an activation process. Some major MMOs do this. They clear inactive accounts so others who wish to use that name may do so without having to check if any of their choices are legitimate. With your account reactivated, you gain your account 100% and you can go along with your regular business as usual. If someone were to register, using your name, you are SOL.

yeah, even something like this could be enough to cut down on the inactive players by deleting accounts not being used and making people who do make accounts become active members of ag, so as to not lose their accounts.

I remember that Graham. Interesting post!

Good idea. As well I know of some websites that will email you and say... "you have not been active for X amount of months, log in or your account will be deactivated." So that is a possibility.

As well, related to the MMO reactivation, I know Facebook has really easy deactivation. You can deactivate your account, and to get it back, you just log in again, and voila, your profile is back. So that could be possible as well.

yeah, this is what i see most websites doing now adays. it seems to work well enough, as the ones that i see using it haven't changed it since they adopted it.

You guys have made some good suggestions in here, I'll mention it to the webdev team. I know services like gmail.com give you 6 months or 9 months of inactivity before they release the username and wipe your old Email. I do agree, however, that a brief "hey, your account is about to be terminated" message needs to be sent. This may already be in the works for AG3, but I'll double check with the team to add it to the suggestion list.

I think if an account is inactive for 6 months their account should be deactivated, not deleted. Meaning that it will be taken off the ranking ladder and marked as inactive by any who visit it. To reactivate it they simply have to login.

yeah, this could make it so only a back up copy of the account is being stored, and when someone logs back in it just recreates it almost.
