I'm from New Zealand and I love kiwis. I do not understand why this thread was posted here though.

I'm the same as Oats and am from NZ and think kiwi's are awesome too... and not sure why this thread is here.

But here is a cool animation about a kiwi wanting to fly:

And you might like to know that since it's our national bird, in the older days when tv stations weren't 24 hrs (very weird, I know) there used to be an animation of a kiwi that would go turn off the tv station and go to sleep, and he had a pet cat. You can see it here:

"Hasent" what?

Efforts to conserve and protect the kiwi are particularly strong, thus they are in relatively safe hands.

Yeah sorry once again i should slow down my typeing, I was leaning to suggest that the bird is the only thing that has not left NZ because it is unable to fly.

No problem.. I'm scaring myself.

I'm not old enough to remember those times.. Though I have seen that sign-off somewhere..

Goodnight Kiwi

Sadly no. I've been more of an urban person.. If I ever saw a kiwi in my backyard it was probably a very long time ago.

Looks about as useless as the pheasants we have here xP
They only get run over, that's about all they do..
How old do kiwis get on average?

there used to be an animation of a kiwi

I distinctly remember watching a Looney Tunes episode with a dozen or so kiwis on an island, with a hunter, when I was very little. I can't even remember whether it was a sketch with Taz or Roadrunner in it. Or it may have been Elmer Fudd. I really don't know..

I watched that Goodnight kiwi animation. It seemed quite funny, in a way :3
If somebody remembers, then we could all just start watching that Looney Tunes animation/episode with kiwis in it :P
Hope somebody would remember it's name...

So that's where the bird logo comes from in kiwininja. They look so cute. Are they dangerous? Or just harmless?
