That's wrong. I hope they go to prison, child abusers get their just deserts in prison from the other prisoners.

From what I heard, the entire dispute started because they didn't respond to a text asking if their kids could come over for a birthday party.

Oh humanity, why you so crazy?

IT STARTED BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T RESPOND TO THE TEXT QUICK ENOUGH!?!??! *endless facepalm*

Bah, that's in Trenton.
No response?
Bah, that's in the capital of New Jersey.
Pay them no mind.
Just kidding.
But seriously...what monsters. That's an idiotic reason for a kid bully another kid and make their life miserable, let alone that they're adults. They should be much more mature than that. And that she's dying?
Fucking monsters in Jersey, I tell ya.

I doubt this had anything to do with a stupid text. These people are just fucked up! I never would have thought that people could something so blatantly wrong. This is why i'm slipping into cynicism.

It's not a big deal? Of course it's a big deal, this is one of the many reasons that more children are dying.
Care for the children!

chill out dude, over 9000 kids die in a hour, there is no such a big deal

So? That doesn't mean that you torture them like that. Why not walk into St. Jude's and laugh at all the kids with cancer? Here's the answer; because its fucked up.

Let me ask you this: Would you be as upset if she didn't have Huntington's disease? Would this have even made the news if she wasn't terminally ill? And really, we are all terminally ill. Everyone is going to die, so why is it that we are supposed to show deference to those who are going to die soon? Or of a disease? Seriously, if she wasn't ill this wouldn't have even made the news and none of us would have heard about it. So the issue isn't that she's being picked on, but that she is ill. So fucking what.

Yes, but here's the thing; even though we are all going to die someday, she is going to die someday soon.
So why would we mark her last days on Earth as bad ones? I think we can all agree bullying makes us miserable. Do you really want the memories of her (short) life to be dominated by bullying?
I think that's rather jaded of you, Walker. Have someone you care about die, then say it's not a big deal. Or have them be terminally ill then have someone make fun of them.
We're righteously pissed off my friend.

Oh, sorry. I didn't know you knew her. Oh, wait, you don't know her? Then how are you 'righteously pissed off'?

And I'm not saying, nor have I said, that the way she's being treated is wrong. What I said is that the only reason we are even hearing about it is because she's ill. The media doesn't care that a young girl is being picked on, they care that a terminally ill person is being picked on. That is what I find jaded. We don't care when your average, healthy person is picked on, it's every day stuff, but when that person is sick then OMG we all need to rush to their defense.

Have someone you care about die, then say it's not a big deal.

For your information I've had a lot of people I cared about die, and sure it's painful. I've had and do have close friends and family with terminal diseases and I've watched them suffer and die.

You are taking the point I was making way out of context so next time try to read all of what I write before jumping to a conclusion.

I had to know her to be mad?

Sorry; but your point that "we are all terminally ill" made you seem jaded to me. It was like you didn't care about death.

I think the reason why it's considered worse is because she is already going through hard times. So being picked at that point is just kicking her while she's down. Though I think we should rush to her defense even if she wasn't ill.

Err, I pretty much jump on anything that doesn't seem right to me and that the people in this situation are the biggest dicks I have ever seen.
I see where you some of you guys are coming from and asking why we should care.
The answer; You don't. We all have different opinions over these subjects and we should respect the opinions of others.............most of the time.

chill out dude, over 9000 kids die in a hour, there is no such a big dea

Now, you could have left that little bolded part out, but you didn't and now I hate you.

If there was a news story about my grandmother who died of MS and was mistreated in her nursing home, would you be mad? And if so, why? What does it have to do with you? The point I was making is that people rally behind causes that don't affect them and they really don't know anything about simply because it's in the news.

Sorry; but your point that "we are all terminally ill" made you seem jaded to me. It was like you didn't care about death.

Honestly I really don't. I don't want it to happen to me or to people I care about but I can't change that. All I can do is enjoy the time I have with those people until either they or I die. There is no sense in becoming emotionally attached to a concept that is out of your control.

I don't get the stigma that terminally ill people deserve some sort of preferential treatment. Sure, they should be treated with dignity, consideration, and compassion, but not any more or less than every other person deserves. I don't think that they are any more or less special simply because they were unfortunate enough to contract a fatal disease.

Again, I don't agree with the way she was treated, and it sucks that she is terminally ill, but it's not my family, I can't change what's happening to her, and my excited emotional state is of no benefit. I can feel sorry for her suffering without developing some 'white knight' complex and crusading to stop her from being picked on. As far as I'm concerned that's her family's job.
